This is the first flower, more to come. It’s endemic to a small area of coastal mountains of south-eastern Brazil.
An early spring wildflower whose blossom with evolve into a small berry with the appearance of a strawberry. Taken with a 10mm extension tube on a 50mm lens. Topaz Sharpen AI used to enhance the sharpness and lower the noise.
Heavily HDR'ed photo from False Kiva in mid-afternoon. The best time to be there is after dusk, but I cannot imagine walking back that barely existent trail in the dark, and sleeping there is definitely illegal, though the chances of being caught are unlikely.

Something caught the attention of this polar bear coming off the ice, causing him to lift his paw, lower his head and swerve it in that direction. Nothing that I could see, but his acute sense of smell (>2000 times better than mine) may have triggered the response. Churchill, Manitoba.

An evening in Kamloops and the Thompson River shows the evidence of just how parched the area can get. This entire area should be under water but instead, appears to have tiny inlets. The colors of the evening outline the small arms of mud and further beautify the scene. However, it all adds up to the fact that "the times, they are a changing", (Bob Dylan)

鳴子峽附近的鳴子溫泉鄉，是鳴子溫泉、東鳴子溫泉、中山平溫泉，鬼首溫泉、川渡溫泉5個溫泉的總稱。一般而言，日本天然溫泉最多可以擁有11種功效，而鳴子溫泉就具備9種功效，因此鳴子溫泉鄉自1,000年前就以溫泉療養效果聞名。除此之外，鳴子溫泉鄉也是特產「小木偶人」的著名產地。
Letana sp, Family: Tettigoniidae
The Phaneropterinae (False katydid) are a subfamily of katydids belonging to the family Tettigoniidae. Nearly 2060 species in 85 genera throughout the world are known. They are among the largest winged katydids.
Their legs vary from genus to genus, but the front and middle ones are always much shorter than the hind ones. The ovipositor and male genitalia are also variable depending on the genus.
These katydids are arboreal in habitat with the vast majority of them passing their lives in shrubs and trees, feeding on leaves and tender twigs with a potential for causing much damage when present in large numbers. This is rare, however, as they live a solitary life unlike meadow grasshoppers, thus are seldom noticed by man.
The Phaneropterinae differ from locusts in their habits of oviposition. Their eggs are rarely deposited in the earth or twigs, but are either glued fast in double rows to the outer surface of slender twigs or are inserted in the edges of leaves.
There is really nothing overtly “false” about False kaydids — entomologists simply refer to them this way in order to distinguish them from the true katydids (subfamily: Pseudophyllinae). Also, the rapid “tic-tic-tic-tic” sound of a male false katydid is unlike the more traditional katydid call of “katy-did, katy-did". The false katydids are more slender and have longer wings than true katydids.
Found it, a False Ladybird, new to me.
I don't think I've ever seen ones like these before, at first I thought it was a ladybird but it's not. An ID would be great, it's not in my book, I've googled it and found a picture of one but no name with it. They are only about 4mm long.

builds you a false front.

you truly are.
When you immerse yourself in their damages
It bends your spine,
dragging you into their dirt.
Stand higher within your peace.
Fight off their storm.
They are nothing,
a false front.
Your hurt you forge through creates
a warrior inside of you.
Don’t lose your heart
in pieces they want you to be.
You are not broken.
Every moment,
Every moment you

is where you
find the truth.

in your repair.

I took this shot a little earlier than my last False Creek image posted. This provides a more straight on view of Science World as the main focal point. Again, I was very lucky to get such calm conditions as there is usually a slight breeze that causes the water to ripple, ruining any chance at good reflections.
