This little inlet is now under construction and is a little fragment of Vancouver that has now vanished. This was a little haven for people living on their boats illegally, and there was quite a collection of characters living on all kinds of makeshift water craft. At one time this inlet extended all the way to the Salt Building on 1st Ave!

Why I hate Christmas (Part 2)
Decorations and the false happiness and goodwill to all mankind, who makes up this crap, mankind is doomed hopefully by its own stupidity and jealousy. A more close-up look of the flowers on a Veratrum viride plant, showing the green flowers that give this one the common name "Green False Hellebore." They are related to the European Veratrum album, which has white flowers (album meaning "white") and is also known as the "White False Hellebore." Some taxonomists actually treat these two as well as two other Veratrums as varieties of the same species, but they are mostly considered separate species now and grow in different parts of the world: V. viride is native to North America, while V. album is native to Europe.
