Fall is upon us. Reposting one of my fave shots from Capitol Peak just outside of Aspen. We all thought sunset would not happen and most left. I stuck it out and was rewarded with what you see before you.

The colors in fall are often spectacular, such as here, in the Rhine valley in Switzerland close to Bad Ragaz.

Taken with Sony A-6000 (Sony ILCE-6000) and SEL-1018 as RAW. Converted to JPEG with LR 5.7

Looking forward to all the great fall colors and my 50mm f/1.4.

Silver Cascade Falls at Crawford Notch, White Mountains rimmed by fall colors

I took this fall gold photo about a month ago. Northern Utah had a short but colorful fall season. This aspen grove is near the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, next to Silverlake. I really like the delicate lines of the trees inside the golden aspen leaves.

The gate colored by red, an orange, yellow gradation is good

This was quite a nice location. We made the quick, muddy trek down to the foot of the waterfall during an impromptu visit to Falling Foss tea rooms.

I only discovered once there that the 10 stop was still in the car, and I was hoping for longer exposures than what I could physically achieve here. Especially as I was stopping down, exposing on the water, with a high contrast black and white image in mind.

Turns out high contrast colour works better with these autumn leaves. And I think the waterfall looks OK. I only rattled off a few quick shots, lacking any real enthusiasm with the kit I had. But in hindsight maybe I could have made a better shot with what I had. Next time.

This waterfall is worth a visit.

The autumn leaves season will begin from now!

Falling Slowly

Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová

I don't know you

But I want you

All the more for that

Words fall through me

And always fool me

And I can't react

And games that never amount

To more than they're meant

Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home

We've still got time

Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice

You'll make it now

Falling slowly,…

Take this sinking boat and point it home

We've still got time

Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice

You'll make it now

Falling slowly sing your melody

I'll sing along

One of the many beautiful trees at the Washington State capital campus. This area is full of amazing, bright colors every fall.

The last wildflower to bloom in our woods is White Snakeroot. There is a line along the woodland edge robust with white flowers from late summer into fall. Apparently the foliage is toxic.

Fall reflections at Abbott Lake and the Peaks of Otter in Bedford, Virginia. Beautiful fall colors with a bit of the Milky Way and comet A3. _DSC0949-Enhanced-NR

Looked out at our backyard the other day and saw small clusters of these mushrooms popping up everywhere.

Couldn't resist getting a few close up's.

Wandering slowly through the forest in Gowlland Tod Provincial Park a withered leaf falls twisting and turning .

So far this Fall, the only things to come from the sky are leaves as we await our fist snow.

East Hamilton Mountain Brow Trail

A new season, and new possibilities. Parked in the Lowes Home Improvement parking lot last night, and woke up feeling ready to explore falls offerings.

Fall Foliage

Boucherville, Qc

It was a brutal rut season but he seems to have come out on top and held onto his harem and for now enjoys relative peace and quiet as the fall colors take over.

Happy falling fences Friday!

Fall Creek, Felton, California. November 2024.

As the morning mist settles along the creek-bottom pasture, the silhouettes of the cows in dim light amble over to see what I’m doing. As a small amount of new day light begins to make the aging silo shine, with the moisture sparkling on the wet grass, all is well with the world in the valley.
