when i was younger i didn't like the fall very much..i guess beause the fall means the end of summer and school.. wow... have things changed!!.. now i adore the fall and i adore the opportunities to learn and become more knowledgable and wiser.

Last September I took a drive to Fall Creek with the intention of getting pictures of the footbridge. Since I was there I took quite a few shots of the creek and surroundings. It's a very beautiful area. It's actually a gorge. There are high rock walls on the sides of the creek in many areas. As you make your way east (away from the Mississippi River) the rock cliffs become higher and in some places there isn't any place to walk. The base of the cliff is at the water's edge.
There's snow on the ground now so this makes me miss summer.

An old round barn is positively aglow in the fading autumn warmth of a sun setting even though it is not in use any more. Every season of life has its good points but a person who has lived a satisfying life often shows a life glow in their fall season.

Fall was fading on 10-30-14 near Exeter, VT, and literally falling as a leaf made its way to the ground as I took this photo, and is now officially fallen.
A trail ride took me to this incredible scene... and I was reminded of why early fall is so wonderful in Michigan!
Fall Creek Gorge is one of the most scenic areas in west central Indiana with its steep walled canyons, tumbling waters, and potholes — large, circular openings in the sandrock that form the bed of the canyon — providing a picturesque home for unusual flora and thriving fauna.
We went for a wonderful hike today and we saw signs of the red fall colors. I tried to have some fun with motion blur just before hiking the rest of the trail that led right into that black "hole' to the right. The warm temperatures today will probably slow down the changes happening in the trees for a bit.
"You can't recapture your past anymore than you can speed up your future. Stop lamenting summer and stop trying to hurry winter. Just enjoy the fall."

One of the fun and challenging aspects of photography is progression, doing something new or better, learning a new skill or method. Jay Masiel said that while art is thousands of years old, photography is a little over a hundred years old. We have barely scratched the surface of what can be done! So...shoot it again, make it better, make it unique, make it new again and relish every step of this journey that has no end.

Glacial silt in the waters of Lake Louise make for a unique contrast to the fall colors of the shrubs along the lake.
The last bit of fall color left with the sun setting and shining on the tree tops. The old tractor has retired but it’s still one of my favorite vintage items to include in my photos.

A couple of weekends ago we had a real blaze of Fall across the river. Since then, wind and rain, and all the "pretty" has just about disappeared.
The combination of dark clouds and a late afternoon sun made for some beautiful views in Fredericton today.

Fall color isn't just for the trees! Grasses around ponds, lakes and the coast change color too. I took this one at a small lake in Illinois at dusk. When I looked at my LCD screen, I was astounded at all the colors that came through in the images. I didn't do anything to the colors in this in Photoshop, all I did was bump the contrast. The purple-blue color in the background is the color of the lake water at dusk.

Typical Fall foliage in Eastern Ontario, complete with an older log structure. This is failry common Fall colour in the part of Ontario that I live in, discovered while back roading on a sunny day recently!

I went to our local rocket launch, this rocket here has an 8 pound bowling ball on it.This rocket shot up around 8,000 feet into the sky. It was pretty cool to see in person.
