Fall color reflection at the Wilson river in Oregon.

Fall is in the air! Cooler nights and shorter days have left me with a host of green tomatoes and peppers as my summer garden comes to an end. Salsa verdi is in my schedule for this afternnon to freeze for the winter. I put together this assortment of the warmer colors from my garden. In addition to the pumkins (the ribbed ones are Cinderella pumpkins), there are dried birdhouse gourds, spaghetti squash, acorn squash, butternut squash and Lakota squash included in this medley.

For there had been an apple fall

As complete as the apple had given man.

The ground was one circle of solid red.

May something go always unharvested!

May much stay out of our stated plan,

Apples or something forgotten and left,

So smelling their sweetness would be no theft.

Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;

Lengthen night and shorten day;

Every leaf speaks bliss to me

Fluttering from the autumn tree.

I shall smile when wreaths of snow

Blossom where the rose should grow;

I shall sing when night's decay

Ushers in a drearier day.

These Fall shots, I am posting, I took them last year in Central Park. I am almost sure this year the colors won't be as good because of the heat we had this past summer. Last year's summer was wet for 65 consecutive days!!! and the result was these gorgeous colors. I let you know how the colors are this year :)))

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Fall fall. Get it? ;-)

Algonquin Park is always a beautiful place to visit in the Fall. The colours are amazing.

I have no idea why these trees are flowering right now. They must be as confused as I am!

Amazing fall colors captured in Kejimkujik National Park, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The vividly coloured trees are probably Sugar Maple trees (Acer saccharum), a native species of the area.

They're widely used in the production of maple syrup, which is made from the sap of the tree.

A beautiful Fall day in New York State. Turkey Hill Lake in Harriman State Park. Spent the day hiking through the hills.

The beginning of fall colours--a Japanese maple set against other trees and grasses. Shot in an urban "park" I've recently discovered. It's a pretty much untended area off Joseph Howe Drive in Halifax. A marker plaque at the entrance notes that Andrew Downs established North America's first zoological garden north of Mexico here in 1847. For 20 years, the 100 acre park—with local and foreign animals and birds, exotic fauna, aquarium, museum and greenhouse—was a favourite place for Haligonians and visitors from further afield. The gardens were sold in 1868 when Downs moved to New York City to head up the zoo in Central Park.

I zoomed in a bit more on this one than on the others to try to get the foliage right around the bench area. I had shots that highlighted that shrub to the left more, but I chose this one because of the extremely bored expressions on both dogs' faces - it makes me laugh.

Zephyr has been showing some signs of jealousy recently regarding Buzz's 52 weeks project! She very firmly inserted herself into this photo shoot so I let her stay. After all, she is a major part of Buzz's life.

We will miss the next two weeks as Buzz and I will be on different continents. I will try to comment, but not sure how much internet connection I'll have. Hope you all have a good couple of weeks till we return!
