We had a lovely long weekend here for Thanksgiving, and after weeks of inactivity, I got out and about with my friend to see what we could find on the back roads of New Brunswick on Sunday. This was one of the shots of the day. More to come.

Though most everything is vibrant green here from recent rains, we DO have a few signs of immenent Fall- I found wind-blown leaves stuck in one of my old iron gates! :) The weather here is PERFECT just now- if we could keep this low humidity and wonderful temps in the 70s! :)
(We bought this wonderful old iron gate in Memphis TN earlier in the year; the owner said it originally came out of New Orleans!)

Southbound BNSF 4740 meets the Northbound Sante Fe 670 "War bonnet" North of Savanna, IL on the BNSF Aurora Subdivision along the Mississippi River. The 4740 would soon crawl to a stop and await for 2 other trains to come off the Barstow subdivision so it could continue on. We waited over an hour to see a train, then ended up seeing 2 perfect meets right below us in 10 minutes time.

We took a hike this weekend on the Wapama Falls Trail at Hetch Hetchy Dam near Yosemite, CA. Hetch Hetchy provides water for all of San Francisco and several other cities. Besides being a critical water supply for California residents, it is also a beautiful place to visit. Many people don't know this, but Hetch Hetchy is part of Yosemite National Park. Unfortunately, no falls this time of year, but we were rewarded with beautiful fall colors. I'm looking forward to going back in the spring.
