Faerie Glen is a windy but magical little spot near the village of Uig along the northern edge of the Isle of Skye.
Dewy grass and mushrooms cover the tiny hillocks between which a few small streams run emptying themselves into a equally small lake. The place really does have a magical feel. And interestingly, we may have had a brush with the wee folk. As we walked up the path toward the largest hill something shiny caught my eye in the grass. I looked to find a silver chain bracelet. I picked it up and handed it to my wife and we continued on. As we ascended the turret, her hat blew off and landed about 50 meters down the hill. I ran to retrieve it and as I reached for the hat it blew away again such that I had to chase it. This happened three times just as I reached for it. On the way out of the glen we saw a circle of stones about 70cm across filled with tarnished coins. We left the bracelet and made our peace with the wee folk.

Best faerie ever (excluding my mom, of course)! Brass wings and brass keys on the ends of her braids, this costume was awesome!
She, the lovely faerie, played the role quite well. The lens flare above her head was a surprise on import.
I've been working on Holly, she's the faerie of the holly plant. I thought she would be really cute for Christmas. There is a lot of interesting lore about the holly plant, and it has healing properties too! I will be writing more about that when she is all finished. ^_^
My husband found this silver bracelet in the water at the foot of a waterfall on Bennachie, a very famous hill and landmark in Aberdeenshire. I got it fixed by a silversmith in Aberdeen , but it has broken again. I recreated the setting where it was found by putting it in the stream near our house!!!

I fell in love with mushrooms as photography subjects while I was away. I suspect rosejones1uk's shots had something to do with it. If we're lucky, MJ may come by and identify some of this flora for us.
