Stevie Wonder's "Come Back As A Flower"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BndN-tcWno
THANK YOU VERY MUCH EVERYONE FOR YOUR VIEWS, COMMENTS AND FAVES, ETC.
I made this for a forum challenge called 'Dark Faerie' and I have a little story that goes with my entry too "My fairy is a good fairy, she spends moonlight nights roaming the woods, collecting night-flowering plants for remedies. Of course not everything in the woods at night is as pure hearted as she is, so she wears this handflower with a magic mirror at the centre of a night bloom. Whenever she encounters anyone or 'anything', she holds the back of her hand up to them and their intentions are reflected back towards them. If they project evil they will receive evil and if they are good that too will bounce back at them. Either way, our fairy will be protected and free to continue with her important work"

"Soone as the Faerie heard his Ladie speake,
Out of his swowning dreame he gan awake,
And quickning faith, that earst was woxen weake,
The creeping deadly cold away did shake:
Tho mou'd with wrath, and shame, and Ladies sake,
Of all attonce he cast auengd to bee,
And with so'exceeding furie at him strake,
That forced him to stoupe vpon his knee;
Had he not stouped so, he should haue clouen bee."

Macro Mondays - "Supernatural"
Fairies (also known as faery, faerie, fay or fae) are mythical beings often described as supernatural.
This little fairy statue was lit with a desk lamp from above, a small torch in front and a mosiac glass tea light holder, with lit candles, behind. I used a Cokin Star 4 filter on the lens to enhance the crystal the fairy is holding, to give that supernatural magic feel to the picture.
My boss INVENTED these. How f'ing cool is that?! My company now sells them all over the world now, she combined her company with the one I work for now and so on and so forth. They're brillint. Check out the website and GO BUY YOUR OWN to play with!!!
p.s. yes, I will be uploading my own pics at some point. I've just been in a mood and working my arse off. I think I've had shooters block (?), maybe photographers block? eh, anyhow, I went to Arthurs Seat here in Edinburgh and shot some, not really sure I got anything good, But kazzawacki and I are going to the infamous Roslin Chapel (from The Davinci Code today - because we have to shoot it before the movie comes out and it's a tourist trap - and we're blessed enough to live 20mins away from it!
Wish us happy shooting =0D
Best,
D

Closer shot of faerie model. Made with sugarpaste. I used my new Makin's clay gun which someone recommended here on flickr. It is SO much better to use than my old squeezy one which really made my hands ache and took forever.
I've never put faerie wings on one of my beasties before! This was a special request from my favorite customer, who also wanted the dragon holding a crystal ball and scrying on a castle scene.
Wow, I've finally managed to post a shot! This is my wonderful lili being one of my favorite creatures, a faerie. She was given this beautiful dress by her grandmother, and she looks so pretty in it.
The last couple of weeks have been those kind of weeks where everything that can go wrong, does!
Apologies for being somewhat absent, I have been trying to keep up... and failing miserably! Things are still gonna be a bit hectic for the next few days, so will try my best to catch up but will definately do a better job next week!

FAERIE
A fairy (also fay, fey, faery, faerie; collectively, "fae" wee folk, good folk, people of peace, fair folk, and other euphemisms) is a type of mythological being or legendary creature, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical, supernatural or preternatural.
The word fairy derives from the term fae of medieval Western European (Old French, from Latin fata: Fate) folklore and romance, one famous example being Morgan le Fay ('Morgan of the Fae'). "Fae-ery" was therefore everything that appertains to the "fae", and so the land of "fae", all the "fae". Finally the word replaced its original and one could speak of "a faery or fairy", though the word fey is still used as an adjective. 'Fae' is the plural, 'Faery' is the singular.
Fairies resemble various beings of other mythologies, though even folklore that uses the term fairy offers many definitions. Sometimes the term describes any magical creature, including goblins or gnomes: at other times, the term only describes a specific type of more ethereal creature.

This is an ATC I made for someone on swap-bot that I totally forgot I owed one to for a WTA! This pregnancy has really taken my mind with it! But I hope she likes it! On illustration board.
Maybe not Faeries but it's easy to imagine such things on a beautiful November afternoon :) I think these are a little Crane Flies or possibly Midges?
