I took photos of my favorite sections of the "Anxietea" wall. I also changed the lighting on some of the shots so the object/characters I was focusing on would have an extra pop.

Dan Witz has been painting for just over 3 decades since moving from Chicago to New York to study, and he has both a healthy fine art career and has garnered a wide swath of respect for his work on the street. In the piece Dan donated to the auction, it is evident why.

A realist, Dan seeks ways to master space and light with his work – as a street artist over many years, Dan has toyed with the obvious parts of the urban environment that you normally stroll by unthinkingly, subverting normal expectation. Part of the “Dark Doings” series he began on the street last year, this piece snaps you out of your daily doze as you walk by it affixed to a steel door.

“Did I just see that?”

What lurks there on just the other side of the window is disturbing, and you may need to become involved.

Still in the lockdown I spent time the last few days looking on YouTube at the many unboxing videos available for toy and model cars. Whilst watching I was pleasantly surprised at the level of detail Hot Wheels and Matchbox have put into recent releases. However, it is one thing looking at details on a screen to actually seeing them in real life. Shortly after this binge viewing I arrived at a local supermarket and headed to the toy aisle. Luckily there were a range of Hot Wheels in a mini bin and I began to have a sort through. After this phase I selected a total of eight models, seven represented proper cars and one was Star Wars related.

This Hot Wheels Audi R8 Spyder had a buy me appeal just on the pad printed number plates front and rear. Truly remarkable for a Mainline toy car and then inspecting further there were other pad printed detailing for the lights, filler cap and Audi emblem on the bonnet. Some of theses details only became apparent after taking images using a macro lens and viewing them on a lap top. Paint finish is immaculate and the interior details excellent for the price point with the only let down being that the steering wheel is solid! Hot Wheels selected the option with the Sideblades in body colour. Overall a remarkable casting with detailing on a level with mid range model cars costing £10-£20. The real version would cost in access of £126,000 but I obtained this Hot Wheels version for £1.85!

🇬🇧 For the first time / New for the 2019 HotWheels series & literally the last car for 2019 with the number 250 of 250 vehicles, the 'Mod Rod' comes in blue & is very reminiscent of 'Hotroad's inspired' vehicles such as the 'Bone Shaker' & instantly a successful new model to collect, so far only available in this color version. In 2020, appears the so-called 'Erikenstein Rod' with the number 52 to the '52nd' HW. Birthday & forms together with the 'Mod Road' No 51 and the as yet unknown 'Nr 53' A 'Secret 3 Series Car Themes Pack' from 3 'New Vehicle Models.

It isn't unusual to look a the heavily lined faces of this artists and find that you drift away for a moment. This particular portrait by French street artist C215 of Jon Cartwright has appeared on the streets of New York, London, Paris, and Sao Paulo.* C215, well known for his intricate stencils and portraits of people that somehow allow their inner glow to come out, generously donated a piece for the Street Art New York Silent Auction Benefit this Saturday.

Using the bottom side of what was once a letterpress sorting drawer of heavy wood, C215 chooses a subject that looks off into a haze of smoke, reflecting for a minute on the issue of the moment, or remembering someone, a conversation, or a phrase.
