Brand new Volvo, just under 1 month old and still completely unmarked. According to DK vehicle registries, it is based in zip-code 8830 Tjele.
Going down the steep hill leading northeast into Aarhus. The motorway ends by Åhavevej in Viby. From here, the trucks can continue straight on to Marselis Boulevard across Skanderborgvej before ending at the port of Aarhus, 6 km from here.

Retirement age for trucks: many used trucks are offered for sale on international markets. the show covered the five boroughs and some gnarly spots. speaking for myself.... blood, sweat, dodging work crews and cops, and a lot of time went into making these fliks, so enjoy!
Still in the lockdown I spent time the last few days looking on YouTube at the many unboxing videos available for toy and model cars. Whilst watching I was pleasantly surprised at the level of detail Hot Wheels and Matchbox have put into recent releases. However, it is one thing looking at details on a screen to actually seeing them in real life. Shortly after this binge viewing I arrived at a local supermarket and headed to the toy aisle. Luckily there were a range of Hot Wheels in a mini bin and I began to have a sort through. After this phase I selected a total of eight models, seven represented proper cars and one was Star Wars related.
This Hot Wheels Audi R8 Spyder had a buy me appeal just on the pad printed number plates front and rear. Truly remarkable for a Mainline toy car and then inspecting further there were other pad printed detailing for the lights, filler cap and Audi emblem on the bonnet. Some of theses details only became apparent after taking images using a macro lens and viewing them on a lap top. Paint finish is immaculate and the interior details excellent for the price point with the only let down being that the steering wheel is solid! Hot Wheels selected the option with the Sideblades in body colour. Overall a remarkable casting with detailing on a level with mid range model cars costing £10-£20. The real version would cost in access of £126,000 but I obtained this Hot Wheels version for £1.85!

I purchased this Skewville limited edition piece back in April of 2010 at a Factory Fresh silent auction benefit for Free Arts NYC. It took me this long to find a proper wall for this gem. Brooklyn's in the house, literally! Super Size Me!

FACTORY FRESH presents: LICHEN On July the 10th, São Paulo will invade Factory Fresh, as LORO VERZ, MUNDANO and APOLO TORRES arrive with an assorted collection of their most recent individual and collective production.
The three artists are presenting different points of view and aspects of the life in São Paulo, Brazil, conveying their interpretations to a strong organism of many environments, the Lichen. The Lichen is the result of the symbiotic association of fungus with a photosynthetic partner, such as algae or cyanobacterium, and they live as a single culture. Although it's severely affected by pollution, it's very resistant to the absence of water and nutrients, being able to survive even in deserts and places taken by a huge cemented, grey area, like São Paulo and other conurbations around the globe.
For a long time describing his paintings as an urban parasite, MUNDANO has paintings all over the city, even in the carts of many "Carroceiros", people that work collecting cardboards, aluminum and other material from the trash to sell to recycling companies. The painted carts run through the city traffic disseminating his messages against the marginalization of this honest and necessary work. On the city’s walls, his messages directly question the corruption of the government, social issues, the pallor and the city traffic. In a way, his characters filled up with eyes are the voice of a silent people.
LORO VERZ decodes the hectic and busy city life style and transforms it into critical, satirical, subversive images. His work is a direct response to the urban and almost schizophrenic state of mind of people living in massive cities as Sao Paulo, where simultaneity and synchronicity are always present. The artist explores different painting surfaces and mediums from oil to spray cans. His style is a fusion of influences that goes from Hyeronimous Bosch to graffiti, from Robert Crumb to Michelangelo. Besides being an artist, Loro is also an illustrator and cartoonist for the Sao Paulo edition of the Metro Newspaper. For this present show, the Lichen's shapes and colors are the structure for his work.
APOLO TORRES work is the most figurative one, but there is a strong relationship between the figure and the surface it's painted on. There is a lot of work on the canvas surface, trying to capture the colors and textures found on the city's walls, and also other living interventions such as Lichen, moss, and human painting. Working on the depth and perspective, but at the same time leaving the elements scattered in the environment, Apolo have been trying to find a way to indicate that all the roots, the ground on which are built our morals and customs, values, beliefs, and even the possession of the space we share with other living beings can change or disappear at any time. Due to the constant transformation of things, the art of Apolo Torres is a visual record of what he has witnessed and felt.
APOLO TORRES, LORO.VERZ and MUNDANO have been highlighted in the recent years, and their individual work is well known in São Paulo and was exhibited at cities like London, Milan, Paris and Tel-Aviv. For the first time in New York, the show promises to be unique, and much focused on their roots.

This is the front room of the Anxiety Room exhibition at Factory Fresh. Most of these works are collaborations between Jim Avignon and myself.

This is me auditioning for the front window display position at Mal*Wart. They said I was too risque for their audience and didn't look plastic enough. They also questioned if I was made in China. I showed them my birth certificate proving I was born there, but they still said "Sorry, no jobs here!" I told them I work for nothing though, but they said, "So do the rest of our workers!"
