South Facade and Water Tank of the Ruined 19th Century French Beaux Arts Henequen (sisal) Factory in the San Lorenzo Hacienda in Ake Ruinas, Ake Ruinas, Yucatan, Mexico. Surprisingly, the Factory was in use until it was destroyed by Hurrican Isidoro in 2002!
The famous Pink Sugar Factory in Birkenhead, North Shore. I used to see the ships moor up along side the factory from the Harbour Bridge. I had a walk round the outside of the factory and through the park that surrounds the site, before walking home to Hillcrest.

One of the expectations when you tour China is that you go to several 'factories'. On these tours, they tell you about products that China is famous for, and they give a demonstration of the production process. At the end, you can purchase products that are certified as genuine by the Chinese government. One thing about China is that there is always something to buy.
