This wood factory in China is using their own unusable wood shavings to run a special generator, to help meet the factory's energy needs. Very smart.
At least that's what the kids around here call it!

Sorting through a drawer full of prints, I came across some now disappeared scenes.
This factory has now gone.
Factories along the Wensum in Norwich (the other side from Carrow Road); a marvellous moody industrial landscape. Here's some modernist architecture, 1950s perhaps, a bit too déclassé to be Bauhaus, but you can see where the influences came from; next door, fine Victorian work.
Founded by Mackintosh this factory dates back to1868 still produces classic brands such as Quality Street. Close to the railway station you get excellent views as the train waits.
This old factory in Hill Street, Netherton, Dudley is getting a makeover, not sure if it is for commercial or housing use.
No longer a factory (in fact, I think this is the upper floors of the Foyles building on Tottenham Court Road) but still just as iconic.
With school here, I have to pack up most of my collection to do homework (my desk looks like War of the Worlds on a smaller scale). I kept the essentials out though, just in case.

Abandoned Flextronics Factory

Flextronics which is still operating in Limerick and Cork supplies networking products to the telecommunications and IT sectors. This factory, located in the Plassey Technological Park in Limerick City shut it's doors in 2002 and has stayed empty since. At the moment it is up for sale at €1.75 million.
