Week 8 assignment - "Resistance is Futile" - this Trek mantra almost turned out to be true.
Resistance was strong this week. Whispers and dreamy - subtleness, it appears to be the opposite of my natural inclination of BOLD and VIBRANT colours.
Here is my attempt - a field of bearded irises, with 2 layers from Kim Klassen - and the techniques from her tutorial video for this week.
My futile attempt to do something interesting with this photo... the elements are all there, and I know what it needs, but I can't get to it. My hat goes to those that are able to do it... I will give it another try a piu tardi...
No one says no to this face.
As you can see we visited with Georgia and her family this past weekend. She is so big! She'll be three years old at the end of the month. She's talking in full sentences and her vocabulary is huge! We had a great time and it was really wonderful to see her and her parents.
Attempting to re-create one of my first nighttime photography experiments.
The first time, I had used glow sticks as my lighting source. Now, I use LED pen-lights that I use in my nighttime photography.

“[They] fought to the last with that kind of bravery desperation inspires…”On 27 March 1814, Major General Andrew Jackson ‘s army of 3,300 men attacked Chief Menawa’s 1,000 Red Stick Creek warriors fortified in a horseshoe shaped bend of the Tallapoosa River. Over 800 Red Sticks died that day. The battle ended the Creek War, resulted in a land session of 23,000,000 acres to the United Sates and created a national hero of Andrew Jackson.

Considering Oliver is little bit food fixated right now, he's showing remarkable restraint...but then again, he did manage to eat his way through a bag of doggie cookies that I forgot to put out of his reach today.
I couldn't decide b/t the Klingon or the Borg, but the Klingon was a bit more obviously photoshopped, so I went with assimilation.

These pictures were all taken at Dragon*Con 2012, which I attended with a friend of mine, Matt Refghi. While there, I hosted a few interviews, and they can be found on my blog.
Make sure to check out Matt's blog, as he has Dragon*Con related posts, interviews, and photos.
