Early last month I drove up to New Hampshire to attend the memorial service and funeral for my Great Uncle.

I, along with a number of my family members, found out at the cemetery that he'd served during WWII, and was being given a military burial.

It was a beautiful, solemn and moving service.

As I stood and watched these two young members of our National Guard pay my Uncle their respect on behalf of the US Military, I found myself feeling enraged at the utter and complete lack of honour, respect, grace and leadership that we've seen from our own "Commander in Chief".

We live in very sad times right now. I am heartbroken at what our country is going through right now, and infuriated that my thoughts turned where they did during this moment.

You would think that the borders opening up is a sign that things have calmed in the civil conflict. In reality, quite the opposite is true. If you’re a Kyrati citizen caught in the middle of it, like the majority are, then it’s the most egalitarian of institutions; unfortunately it’s also the most destructive. A bullet or a bomb kills indiscriminately, regardless of wealth, race, religion, sexual or political orientation. The voices of the common people are however never heard. Leaders and historians will tell you that wars are made up of skirmishes and battles, tactics and strategy. But the truth is, all armed conflicts are made of grief; lots and lots of common grief.

My funeral car. Today its time has finally come, we loaded it onto a trailer and carried to a guy, who should bring it back to a life. The car is in average condition for its age and is complete. First step is to implant an engine, which is out of the car. Then the whole restoration will begin. We hope in a shiny future.

Had been for the funeral of my cousin last week.

He was my age and it brought back a lot of memories especially during the time when we were together in school (II and III standard)

He was burried in the same grave where his mother was. The cross that you see is that of his mother which was temporarily removed.

During deaths and funerals I avoid taking picture of the deceased person.

I prefer to remember them as they were when they were hale and hearty.

I always think it's sad that the only time most people get to go in a limo is either when they are getting married, when they are dead or when they are going to someone else's wedding or funeral. But, I suppose if it was your everyday car then it would be a pig to park in Tesco's car park or at the railway station!
