Back in the day, this trolley performed the function of bearing mourners to the cemetery. There was space for a coffin and stained glass. This is the last car of its type in existence anywhere in the world.
A beautiful replica of President Lincoln's funeral car departed today by truck to its next display site in Antioch, IL after a very successful two-year stint here in Duluth.

With the demolition of the old wilkinsons store on Cleveland street, the removal of its fake front has revealed this Ghost sign.
This will date back to pre-1967 as the firm list moving offices then. I have found an old picture of the sign in its heyday on Ebay that shows behind the cladding seen on the left edge may lurk a very interesting building.
Photographed at the abandoned funeral home "House of Wills".
House of Wills was abandoned from 2005-2010, purchased by Eric Freeman and been used as the center for Santanists of Cleveland since then.
Eric is a prominent Satanist of North America, very smart, very funny. Also, he earned himself a national name for making art and clothes for musicians like Marilyn Manson, Kerry King of Slayer, and Al Jourgensen of Ministry.
This photo took me 6 months planning and 2 trips to Cleveland, fortunately Ben (www.exploreshootframe.com) finally hooked me up with this place.

Hand held without any regard for nodal points. Blended together in Photoshop, which handled lens vignetting far better than Lightroom.
Today has finally come around, and it's only a few hours till Susan's funeral service. My daughters chose this photo of Sue to be on the Order of Service, It was taken at my eldest daughter Carolyn's wedding, Sue was so happy and so proud. She'd worked so hard through all our married life to get those beautiful laughter lines :)))
I don't know how I'm going to manage to read the Eulogy, but I'll get through it somehow, albeit with lots of tears.
Susan would have been so proud of me today, as I actually went to a barbers yesterday for the first time in 40 years, she always cut my hair ( reluctantly ).
It was quite emotional, and as it was a Turkish barbers , lots of steaming minty towels, and flaming ears :)))
I've chosen Funeral by Band of Horses, because it was a gig we went to not expecting to be particularly good, and Sue really loved it.
