This spot is famous from the movie "Forrest Gump" and the amount of people that stopped here whilst I was there was amazing.
A standard shot, I know but I just had to get it!

We walked over the bridge and it was surprisingly windy. I'm not a fan of heights but made it over.

The Richard V. Woods Memorial Bridge, (known locally as the Woods Bridge) is a swing bridge that connects downtown Beaufort with Lady's Island and the outer Sea Islands in Beaufort County, South Carolina. The bridge is named in memory of Richard V. Woods (1935–1969), who was a South Carolina Highway Patrol officer killed in the line of duty and was opened on December 17, 1959, having replaced an earlier swing-bridge that was built 1927.
The bridge swings on its central axis to open for boat traffic which is too tall to clear the bridge, and has an operator's station in the center of the span from which an attendant can operate the bridge. Due to the presence of the Intracoastal Waterway, the bridge is required to frequently open for boat traffic to pass through.
The bridge was featured in the film Forrest Gump (1994) as a stand-in for a bridge across the Mississippi River. In the film, Forrest Gump is interviewed by television reporters about his cross-country running trip while crossing the bridge.
Highway 163 made famous by Forrest Gump movie (1994). Popular and busy location for photographers... I was lucky to get a clean shot with little traffic. April'24
Mrs. Gump: I happen to believe you make your own destiny. You have to do the best with what God gave you.
Forrest Gump: What's my destiny, Mama?
Mrs. Gump: You're gonna have to figure that out for yourself. Life is a box of chocolates, Forrest. You never know what you're gonna get.

taken in the Burcina Park, Biella, Piedmont, Italy (ca.10 kms from where we live )
Located 7 km from Biella is the Parco Burcina Nature Reserve. It occupies almost all of the hill very near the pre-Alpine foothills of the Biellese.
The park was a gift from the Piacenza family whose roots go back to the middle of the 19th-century. Giovanni Piacenza, a wool industrialist, decided to buy the hill and turn it into a park - one of the most admired in Italy.
Today the slopes of the hill are covered with beeches, pines, fir trees, cedars and various aromatic plants. Above all it is known for its rhododrendons (rhododendra) that comes from the Caucasus and the Himalayas.
They flower between mid May and the beginning of June and are well worth a visit. It also harbours many species of trees that come from all over the world.

This shot is from the spot where Forrest Gump has finished his run in the movie. Two years ago, there was a trading post with a sign "Famous Spot", now there's an actual sign specifying the location exactly. It is a bit far from the Monument Valley itself, yet the Valley looks exceptionally beautiful from this spot. This is a tribute to the those who found the spot.

We went looking for Forrest Gump's bus stop bench, but found a lovely square, dedicated to General James Edward Oglethorpe, who had previously founded the colony of Georgia, Savannah in 1733. He designed his new capital as a series of neighbourhoods centred around 24 squares. Chippewa Square is at the centre of the downtown historic district. The square is also at the centre of Savannah’s nightlife and entertainment, largely in part because of the Historic Savannah Theatre.
