WHY IS A STRASBURG CREATION SO SPECIAL?
At Strasburg Children we take great pride in providing the finest quality childrens clothing on the market today.
We are a specialty children’s clothier, who, for over seventeen years, has been designing, manufacturing and retailing heirloom-quality special occasion and seasonal apparel. Currently, we offer our customers 63 boutique locations nationwide, all of which emphasize knowledgeable and personalized customer service.
Timeless, classic designs featuring extraordinary details and fine fabrics are the trademarks of an original Strasburg creation. Our heirloom garments are embellished with hand embroidery, smocking, hand faggoting, French seams which eliminate the raw, irritating, inside seaming found in most childrens clothing. Our timeless collectibles are made from the finest natural fabrics including 100% cotton lawn, fine cotton/linen, silk organza and silk dupioni.
Strasburg Children has two design teams who create the Heirloom Collection and Seasonal Collections - both are responsible for modernizing and retaining the Strasburg image.
The Heirloom Collection maintains Strasburg’s tradition of timeless, classic style. These designs never go out of fashion and are often handed down from one child to the next. Heirloom apparel includes unique clothing for weddings, Christenings, First Communions and other special occasions.
Seasonal Collections encompass all major holidays and seasons. Outfits featured in Spring, Fall, and Holiday Collections are casual and fun, while still staying true to the Strasburg quality.
Strasburg Children also provides a wide range of accessories, including: baby gifts, hand made hair bows and halos, bonnets, dolls, matching girl and doll clothing, jewelry, shoes, and more. All accessories are made to compliment both the Heirloom and Seasonal Collections.
From the sketchpad to the hand that embroiders the finishing touch, attention to detail and quality is Strasburg Children’s utmost priority. Customers who purchase from Strasburg Children not only receive a fine quality garment – they also give the child in their life the pride and magical feeling that only a Strasburg creation can provide.
Man has invented computers and robots and has reached to space but still the celestial bodies have attracted us. Since years, mothers have used moon and stars to pacify their infants, their lullabies have beautifully mentioned them and have made them curious to know more about these fascinating objects hanging in the sky. These planets have secured an important place in the curriculum of these children. Books have provided a great amount of information but to quench the thirst of our students to know more about planets, stars, and constellations, a visit was organized to the prestigious Nehru Planetarium, Delhi. Children enjoyed their bus ride sang songs, played riddle games. As they entered, they were welcomed by the first satellite launch vehicle-SLV-3 which brought a seven-mile smile on their faces. After reaching there they enjoyed their lunch and gave the shutterbug a chance to capture their fun filled activities. Now it was the time to enter the dome, their excitement was doubled. They were thrilled to see the space suit worn by Sq. Ldr. Rakesh Sharma during his maiden visit to space. Though it was dark inside the dome but the whispering of excited little wonders was telling the level of enthusiasm. The Science teacher and the Social Science teacher explained them more about these sparkling objects in the sky. Now it was the time to visit The Nehru Sangrahalay. Children were thrilled to see the newspapers’ cuttings with the news of Non-Co-operation Movement, Civil Disobedience Movement, and Quit India Movement. They got back to school with a bag mixed with excitement, pride, and knowledge.

All dressed up and no where to go.... It was a big night for me - and unfortunately had no one to celebrate it there with me that was there just solely for me. Not that people didn't want to go. Just no one could, or did. But am I complaining? Not at all! Some moments are just so WOW that it supercedes having been alone. I lived to tell that tale.

This is an ANTIQUE Japanese Irotomesode. Irotomesode are semi-formal kimono for married women. This piece likely originates in the Taisho Period (1912 - 1926) or early Showa Period (1926 - 1989). It displays a cart full of flowers in bright and bold colours. This kimono features one embroidered bush clover crest.
I have inspected this kimono in detail and there is some significant damage as can be seen in the photos above. It appears that someone may have attempted to scotch guard, dry clean or otherwise wash this kimono as there is quite a lot of bleeding on the patterned portions. There are also some large prominent stains on the exterior and on the hakkake. As a result this kimono would be best suited to some sort of remake. The stitching on the interior of the kimono near the kimono is also coming loose, but this can be easily repaired. Overall I would rate this kimono fair antique condition. This kimono is 100% silk.
MEASUREMENTS:
Length: 148cm
Arm Span: 122cm
Width Across Back: 57cm
Total Width of Skirt: 124cm
Sleeve Drop: 68cm
SIZING
If you are unsure of how to interpret the kimono's size it is important to know that the length (collar - hem) should be approximately 10cm longer to 10cm shorter than the wearer's overall height (longer is better). This is because the excess length will be folded up at the waist. Meanwhile, the skirt should wrap around the hips a full 1.5 times. The armspan should also reach wrist to wrist on the wearer. In this case, the kimono will ideally fit a woman about 138cm (4'6") - 158cm (5'2") tall, with hips about 83cm (32.5") around. There is some give and take in these measurements though.
