Found this little guy alone left and faded near the railway tracks in Paarl. Maybe he wondered off too look at something and now has forgotten how to get home.

Day 16, January 16,2010

These shoes were in the window of a long and forgotten shoe store.

I loved the detail on this shoe buckle, the rest of the shoes was dusty as all get out.

A house on the hill along a lake road on the Eastern Shore of Seneca Lake. While the yard has been mowed , it seems the rest of the property has been forgotten. Sitting on the hill, the porch has quite a scenic view of the lake. Hopefully it will soon get a little care.

St. Joseph's Church,

Comal, Texas, off FM 482

I was at first a little sad, when I took this picture, because I thought this beautiful building had been abandoned and forgotten. I emailed the person in charge of the local genealogical society, who told me that this church is still in use, just on holidays. :) Plus, there's an outhouse in the back. That is awesome.

A leaf that has been left behind from the past winter season...

An old fourplex located just off of The Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Homeless people slip into this fourplex and the apartments in the background for shelter from the cold and sleep inside at night. There is neither running water nor electrical power.

Forgotten Boys

Not an easy cemetery to capture, no nearby parking. I had to pull alongside the road as much as I could and put on my hazards. A sad little cemetery with a bunch of litter and many broken stones. Very sad. If I come by here again, I'm bringing a trashbag and picking up the trash. Least I can do for these forgotten souls.

Damn squeaky son of a bitch.

I felt that the National Mall in Washington is somewhat also a national necropolis, but still also a memorial for democratic values. The Korean War Memorial is dedicated to an almost forgotten war. In the Korean War between 1950 and 1954 over 35000 Americans and over 600000 non-American UN troops (incl. South Korean troops) died. The numbers on the memorial are a bit higher, but under some dispute. There are no robust numbers for North-Korean, Chinese and civilian casualties, but they definitely go into hundreds of thousands as well (they are not mentioned on the Memorial).

The Forgotten Location Series - The Barn

This is one of our previous shoots. We wanted to tell a story of not only the person we are taking the photograph of, but also the location. Every location has a story, the barn was very eerie. I couldn’t find any information about this location. Some people say that it was a automotive shop, others say its was a farm. We want to thank Chuck who is now Sam’s boyfriend. That is why we entitled one of the photos “Twilight the Beginning”. The shoot encouraged their individual personalities and allowed creativity in an unfamiliar environment. Enjoy the behind the scenes…

There was this rose lying on a stair of a subway in Greenwich Village. I wonder who was it for?

Bike that carried childhood.

A forgotten Tank in the middle of the forest, and the first decent HDR I make.

This is a slightly re-worked version of a picture I posted last summer.

This rose is in what would have been the side garden of Ferntower House -- formerly a large mansion house on the edge of Crieff.

Various local sources have suggested that the house once belonged to Sir David Baird (1757 - 1829), a general in the British Army, and a baronet -- or to the family of his wife, Miss Campbell-Preston, a Perthshire heiress, whom he married in 1810.

The main house was apparently occupied until around the time of WWII and I'm told that one of the wings of the house was still occupied in the 1970s. However, the entire building is now in a sadly derelict state and has been fenced off due to the danger of falling masonry.

Decaying, forgotten ruins

Forgotten - Live at Bandung Berisik 2012

Saturday, May 19, 2012

Lanud Sulaiman, Kopo, Bandung, West Java, Indonesia

A once great city where the prosperous residents were served by the miraculous mechanical automatons. The people have long since disappeared, but the automatons remained and still take care of the crumbling stone walls, abandoned halls and rusty fences.
