Before 1944 this sidewalk was lined by trees, homes, and the National Road in the town of Somerfield, Somerset County, PA. The road and sidewalk led to the Great Crossings Bridge built in 1815. In 1944 the Youghiogheny Dam was completed and the town of Somerfield was abandoned as the new lake filled. Today, every few years when the lake is drawn down the sidewalks, foundations, and Great Crossings Bridge become visible.
in the beginning of my couple of months absence here, I felt that I need to find my way back, no matter how. I was frustrated at I could not be logged on to my flickr account. Even after finding photoblog (1 entry, 20 photos a day), I still missed Flickr, especially the friends here.

I recalled seeing how nurses cleaned up the beds of those that had passed on. the bedsheets, the board that their names were written...so efficient, all cleared in minutes.

Age 62. Dreams of children, wife, picket fences. But also knows he won't get that life this time around.
Or ever.
He is happy to have the life he has, and god.
Despite the neglect and abuse dealt to him, he prays for everyone's happiness in this life and next.
I was glad to spend Valentine's evening dinner with him.

A once great city where the prosperous residents were served by the miraculous mechanical automatons. The people have long since disappeared, but the automatons remained and still take care of the crumbling stone walls, abandoned halls and rusty fences.

Forgotten Songs is an art installation in Angel Place, Sydney. It consists of bird cages and recordings of the songs of birds that were native to the area now occupied by the Sydney CBD.
When we raise our children, we relive our childhood. Forgotten memories, painful and pleasurable, rise to the surface.... So each of us thinks, almost daily, of how our own childhood compares with our children's, and of what our children's future will hold.

1. Materials used were a broken truck, trees, camera, and a computer.
