I’ve never felt smaller—in the best way—than I did walking through the old-growth redwoods in Northern California. These trees are over 2,000 years old. Just let that sink in. They were here before cities, before roads, before so much of what we think of as “history.”
There’s a quiet here that feels sacred. The way the light filters through the canopy, the smell of damp earth and moss, the sheer scale of everything—it hits you in a deep, almost ancient part of yourself.
It’s not just a forest. It’s a reminder of how young we are, and how lucky we are to witness something so timeless.

A single raindrop delicately clings to the tip of a twig, holding a fragment of the forest within. A fleeting moment of stillness in nature, captured in perfect balance between fragility and strength.
A serene moment in the Niepołomice Forest, where delicate birch trees stand tall against a soft winter sky. The foreground is filled with shimmering golden bokeh, created by the morning light reflecting off dew-covered plants. A quiet, dreamlike atmosphere in the heart of nature.
Un parell de dies després de la primera visita al Torrent de la Bastida vaig tornar a explorar amb més calma, vaig anar pujant per la vora el riu i trobant racons molt interessants i aquest és un d’ells. L’aigua ja no baixava tan potent com el primer dia, però el color encara era força guapo. Vaig trobar aquesta petita cascada que va cridar-me l’atenció i també l’entrada de llum per al lateral que es veu ben reflectida en l’arbre de l’esquerra de la imatge.

With a forecast for fog and recently fixed (ish) bicycle, I went on a local jaunt yesterday, taking a ride to Stapleford Woods.
Stapleford woods is synonymous with Rhododendrons, the majority of the undergrowth is that and Bracken which provides some really nice foreground shape/texture.
A fine mist still lingered from earlier in the morning and I'm very glad I sat on this spot and waited; the light broke eventually creating a warm glow amongst the stands of Pine.
In the end this turned out to be more of a scouting trip, Rhododendron has a beautiful flower that is a delicate pale pink when it first buds. I'll be returning to this same spot to capture it around May/June but before that, we have Bluebell season just around the corner.

Aquests dies està plovent bastant per aquí, vaig veure una foto d’en Pau que em va semblar molt interessant ( veure el riu “vermell” no és habitual ) i li vaig comentar,em va explicar el lloc i just aquells dies era ideal, així que com tenia temps, tot i la pluja, vaig quedar amb ell i vam anar a veure la zona. Just arribar es va posar a ploure bastant, però ja que estàvem allà vam agafar els paraigües i cap a fer fotos vam quedar una mica xops tant nosaltres com la motxilla, però res extraordinari és el que toca i val la pena. El riu baixava bastant fort i això fa que les traces blanques d’espuma quasi no es veuen, però crec que he captat la força de l’aigua amb la velocitat justa d’exposició.

A vegades veus imatges que et criden l’atenció, va ser el cas d’una foto de la @rosoardo , que creia estaria feta lluny, i la meva sorpresa va ser al demanar-li que era a la Seu, així que sens dubte, a la que vaig tenir temps vaig anar a investigar, ja era una mica tard i quedava poca llum, però vaig poder fer una foto que m’agrada. En aquest tipus de fotos sempre tinc el dubte si és interessant tenir gent, crec que una foto així amb persones et pot fer pensar en alguna història, sense però, et transmetrà sensacions, almenys així ho entenc jo. Aquesta noia l’he posat amb Photoshop i no tinc clar quina de les 2 fotos m’agrada més, penso que no tenen res a veure, ja que en una, la protagonista és la noia i en l’altre és el lloc.

A young fly agaric (Amanita muscaria) pushes through the moss beneath low-hanging pine branches. Three delicate mushrooms glowing softly in the evening light on my property in Winlock, WA. It was nearly dark when I found them, so I used two small light cubes to mimic the warmth of late sunshine filtering through the forest. Captured with my Nikon Z6II and Nikkor Z 105mm f/2.8 Macro. This image is a stacked composite blended in Helicon Focus for depth, then refined in Lightroom and Photoshop to bring out the dreamy bokeh and fine texture of the gills.
A quiet reminder that even the smallest things in the woods can light up the day. 🌿🍄✨

Week 11 in 52 Weeks for Dogs and we had more snow today but unfortunately Tasku couldn't go and play in the forest as she's still in season - so I brought the forest to her and did a composite image, similar to a double exposure but I used a mask and brushed out some areas of the branches.
