It was a peaceful morning in the forest today. The sunlight danced through the trees, casting gentle shadows on the moss-covered ground. The fresh, already autumnal air and the delicate play of light and shadow gave this moment a special magic. It amazes me how serene nature is in the early morning – as if time stands still. 🌲✨
Es war heute ein ruhiger Morgen im Wald. Das Sonnenlicht tanzte durch die Bäume und warf sanfte Schatten auf den moosbewachsenen Boden. Die frische, schon herbstliche Luft und das zarte Spiel von Licht und Schatten verliehen diesem Moment eine besondere Magie. Es ist für mich erstaunlich, wie friedlich die Natur am frühen Morgen ist – als würde die Zeit stillstehen.

I wanted to be too cool for school and avoid this season's bluebell hype, but I went for a local bike ride to Skellingthorpe Old Wood and found myself very much getting involved.
Although Old Wood is managed by the Woodland Trust as plantation, there are sections that haven’t been managed in many years and are covered in carpets of these delicate flowers. I moved very carefully in this section of the woods following animal trails created by the deer, bluebells are very sensitive to disturbance and I like the follow the “leave no trace” principle as much as possible when I navigate sections off-footpath.
This is a tableaux I happened across deep into a stand of mainly birch, an Ash tree stood on the embankment of a dried up stream catching the last of the evenings side-light surrounded by blue. The sounds were incredible, birds singing their last flurry of song before the sun set and the aroma of pollen, birch and pine oil filled the air. If only for the experience, this photograph was well worth taking.
I’ve never felt smaller—in the best way—than I did walking through the old-growth redwoods in Northern California. These trees are over 2,000 years old. Just let that sink in. They were here before cities, before roads, before so much of what we think of as “history.”
There’s a quiet here that feels sacred. The way the light filters through the canopy, the smell of damp earth and moss, the sheer scale of everything—it hits you in a deep, almost ancient part of yourself.
It’s not just a forest. It’s a reminder of how young we are, and how lucky we are to witness something so timeless.
Nel cuore del magico bosco del Cansiglio, un morbido cuscino di muschio verde si distingue tra il tappeto dorato e ramato delle foglie d'autunno.
Una scena che sembra uscita da un dipinto, dove ogni dettaglio racconta la bellezza e l’armonia della natura. Il muschio, con la sua vivace tonalità, sembra quasi un piccolo rifugio, un angolo di vita in un mare di foglie cadute.
Camminare qui significa immergersi in un mondo incantato, fatto di colori, profumi e silenzi che parlano al cuore. La natura ci insegna ancora una volta a osservare e meravigliarci.

It's too warm to think of anything lyrical to write. This is one from last year, taken on a warm summers day after the ferns had fully unfurled and the canopy at Padley Gorge had filled in; producing a gorgeous yellow/green glow throughout the woods.
Mossy logs thrown in for good measure.

Light and shadow from deep within the woods.
I make a pilgrimage every year to the same spot in my local woodland that has the most amazing carpet of Bluebells and Stitchwort. There's a quiet and stillness to this place which is best expressed in a more intimate manner photographically, a place where one can be enamoured by the small details in turn rather than "the woods" as the sum-total of its parts.
The result of my visit this year was deliberately impressionist. I found a dried out ditch whose embankment allowed me to shoot upwards and utilise the blue sky above. The shapes of the trees and canopy blurred into ambiguity removing the sense of place to some degree, mirroring the experience that comes when you lose yourself in places like these.

A vegades veus imatges que et criden l’atenció, va ser el cas d’una foto de la @rosoardo , que creia estaria feta lluny, i la meva sorpresa va ser al demanar-li que era a la Seu, així que sens dubte, a la que vaig tenir temps vaig anar a investigar, ja era una mica tard i quedava poca llum, però vaig poder fer una foto que m’agrada. En aquest tipus de fotos sempre tinc el dubte si és interessant tenir gent, crec que una foto així amb persones et pot fer pensar en alguna història, sense però, et transmetrà sensacions, almenys així ho entenc jo. Aquesta noia l’he posat amb Photoshop i no tinc clar quina de les 2 fotos m’agrada més, penso que no tenen res a veure, ja que en una, la protagonista és la noia i en l’altre és el lloc.
