For some people home is all they can carry in their hands, on their backs, in a super market cart...
And this is now a most familiar street scene, common in all countries.
And the shame is not on these people, it's on the political leaders of these countries and on all rest of us who vote for them!

For the first time in 183 years, Historic Werrington House was open to the public.
Ventured along, so did a few other hundred people, considering it was only open for three hours and there was a two hour wait to snout through the house, uninterrupted photo ops weren't to be.
It's hidden right in the middle of 70s constructed suburban dreams, if it wasn't for the new gates you'd never know it was nestled in there.
For many years it was home to the "Father of Federation" Sir Henry Parkes, Premier of NSW on 5 separate occasions from 1872 to 1891. Now owned by the former NSW Opposition Leader Captain Peter Collins and his wife Jennine.

For a commission. I toyed with doing her bangs all in white, but decided it looked better with wide stripes.
I was so happy to see these bloom last fall and I can't wait to see if they survived being wintered in my house, oh I hope it flowers again!
And so today it was time for the planter's annual coat of paint.
Still blue, like the sea in Greece.
And it made me think.
How satisfying it felt that I was able to preserve the life of the planter for another year.
Just as it had felt good to re-use the old fence's softwood.
Just as it had felt good to use the raw wood to create the original fence.
For many years now, the wood has lived on with a little re-invention and a little care.
For many years, I too have lived on with much attempted re-invention and a little care.
And we have spent the majority of our existence in one re-invented state or another.
But once, for a very brief period, this was a beautiful tree.
And what was I?
For my cousin who just got married. The bride had sunflowers in her bouquet, and the bridesmaids wore lime green dresses. The bronze cardstock was the same she used for her wedding invitations.

For a long time I wanted this watch, but for a long time it was out of my reach financially. Even my son bought one for himself earlier. ) But I'm glad I was able to get myself this 125th anniversary model. Cuervo Y Sobrinos Prominente - Swiss manufacture, Latin heritage.
For this skirt a used Bora's ice cream fabric www.spoonflower.com/fabric/592477 wich she gave me on my birthday (thanks Debor!) I made this skirt for my two year old, but unfortunately I made a messure mistake so the skirt is to tight arround her legs :( She can't move free in it, so she can't wear it :(
Since this is one of my favorites I would like to dedicate this to the wonderfully generous woman and talented photographer who gave me the best flickr gift ever! PRO :D
For October's Blocks in Not Your Grandma's Quilting Bee (The Hive) Mary provided pre-cut triangles and asked for this specific style of block, two made with solid centres and two made with print centres. They were quick to make and I love the combination of fabrics she chose.

For one Ms. Carrier-JJ. We eat honey virtually every day. This is the best I've ever had. Apparently the bees brought in pollen from Cordia flowers tinting it white.

Spatio Virtuo Teatro (2006)
Jason Meadows
Painted steel
Jason Meadows designed Spatio Virtuo Teatro for South Coast Repertory Theater with the intention of bringing the theater outdoors. The pink, purple, blue, and silver painted steel sculptures offer guests a glimpse at the experiences they could expect inside. Near the theater box office, The Storyteller sits at the end of a bench excitedly telling his tale to passersby. Herald represents the playgoer and sits watching, while Upstage/Downstage represents the stage itself, complete with overhead lighting and theatrical crew. The Los Angeles-based artist’s work has been featured at the Los Angeles Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Tate Modern in London.

Mark your calendars for our cleanup of Lynch Cover Run Stream this Saturday (6/25/15) from 9 am – 2 pm in conjunction with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay's Annual Project Clean Stream! We will be cleaning up Lynch Cover Run which runs next to the North Point Government Center before flowing into Bear Creek. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are needed! Help us remove the trash before it flows into Bear Creek, the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean! Every piece of trash removed is a small victory to be celebrated!
We run our cleanups as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. We welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Though it is true we will need people to dig out shopping carts and haul trash to the dumpsters, we need people to run water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek. People to sort recyclables from the debris removed. People will be needed to help at registration, setup food and snacks as well as many other less strenuous activities. We are also authorized to sign-off on Community Service and Service Learning Hours for students. The more people we have, the easier the work will be for everyone. We will provide lunch and snacks as well as gloves. A limited number of tools are available for sign-out, but suggest bringing your own if you have them.
Registration will open at 8 am in the parking lot of Merritt Park Baptist Church.
Community Service and Service Learning Hours are available as well!
We are also looking for photographer/videographer volunteers to help us document our cleanup as well.
