OH my goodness - this painting (tiny bit of collage) nearly killed me and I'm not sure why I needed to be "so" complicated but I guess I was wanting to do one of those complicated, lots going on pieces. Originally I was planning to use a very sombre monotone muted palette, mostly greys and black - just can't seem to leave the colour alone. Phew !! happy to be fini and aiming to try simplicity Week 5. ;-) Wonder if the tears were a mistake ??? Wonder if it's all just a little contrived feeling, although I have really loved allowing myself to play & experiment, something I don't often let myself do ... I've come to realize through this fantastic course. Love any and all thoughts, feedback etc...such a great class. Merci !!

柳，姿态婀娜，摇曳多姿，受到历代文人墨客的青睐，常用来作为抒情言志的对象。唐诗中的咏柳佳作更是不可胜数。其中当数贺知章的《咏柳》诗最为著名：
碧玉妆成一树高，万条垂下绿丝绦。
不知细叶谁裁出，二月春风似剪刀。
诗歌一反前人以杨柳的形象形容美人身段苗条的写法，而使杨柳化身为美人“碧玉”而出现，用拟人的手法形象地刻画出杨柳那曼长披拂的枝条、嫩绿的新叶在春风吹拂中的迷人的姿态。
在唐朝诗人中，对柳最有感情的当数李尚隐了。在他的诗集中，以“柳”为题的多至十几首。《赠柳》诗描绘春柳风姿：
章台从掩映，郢路更参差。
见说风流极，来当婀娜时。
桥回行欲断，堤远意相随。
忍放花如雪，青楼扑酒旗。
“掩映”“参差”写柳色或明或暗、柔条垂拂的繁茂景象，“风流”“婀娜”写柳的体态轻盈，花飞似“雪”则把春柳的繁华写到极致。
而《柳》是写秋日之柳：
曾逐东风拂舞筵，乐游春苑断肠天。
如何肯到清秋日，已带斜阳又带蝉。
写秋柳，又以春柳作比。春日之柳的繁盛，正反衬出秋日之柳的枯凋；春日愈是繁华得意，愈显出秋日之柳的零落憔悴。
同是咏柳，诗人却表现出截然不同的感情：写春柳，突出其对春柳繁华的欣喜之情、爱惜之情；写秋柳，则表现诗人对秋柳稀疏衰落的悲叹之情。
咏柳，在唐诗中常被用以赋别。罗隐的《柳》就是运用比兴手法，借助春柳的形象，写暮春晴日长安城外、灞水岸边送别情景的：
灞岸晴来送别频，相偎相倚不胜春。
自家飞絮犹无定，争解垂丝绊路人。
在赋别诗中，诗人一般以折柳相赠惜别。如戴叔伦的《堤上柳》：
垂柳万条丝，春来织别离。
行人攀折处，是妾断肠时。
施肩吾的《折杨柳》：
伤见路旁杨柳春，一重折尽一重新。
今年还折去年处，不送去年离别人。
而雍裕之的《江边柳》则别出新意：
袅袅古堤边，青青一树烟。
若为丝不断，留取系郎船。
诗中女主人公不仅没有折柳赠别，倒希望柳丝绵绵不断，以便把情人的船儿系住，永不分离。
另外，白居易的《勤政楼西老柳》用简括的笔触勾勒了一幅“临风立马图”，又是诗人的自画像：
半朽临风树，多情立马人。
开元一支柳，长庆二年春。
而唐彦谦的《垂柳》诗又别有寓意：
绊惹春风别有情，世间谁敢斗轻盈。
楚王江畔无端种，饿损纤腰学不成。
这首诗不仅写出垂柳的婀娜多姿，别具柔情，而且联想到楚灵王“爱细腰，宫女多饿死”的故事，托物寄兴，讽刺矛头直指皇帝及其为首的封建官僚集团，于柔情中见犀利，于含蓄中露锋芒，堪称“咏柳”诗一绝。

For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Marshals Service has conducted a high-impact national fugitive apprehension initiative focusing on the country’s most violent offenders. This six-week initiative, called Operation Violence Reduction12 (Operation VR12), resulted in the arrest of more than 8,075 gang members, sex offenders and other violent criminals.
While Operation VR12 was conducted nationwide in all 94 federal judicial districts, U.S. Marshals focused special attention on 12 selected locations, designated as priority cities by the U.S. Department of Justice: Baltimore; Brooklyn, New York; Camden, New Jersey; Chicago, Illinois; Compton, California; Fresno, California; Gary, Indiana; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; New Orleans; Oakland, California; Savannah, Georgia; and Washington, D.C.
In order to have the greatest impact on violent crime, Operation VR12 focused on fugitives who had three or more prior felony arrests for crimes such as murder, attempted murder, robbery, aggravated assault, arson, abduction/kidnapping, weapon offenses, sexual assault, child molestation and narcotics. Operation VR12 investigators increased their focus on fugitives accused of sex crimes and on the recovery of missing children.
Between February 1 and March 11, the U.S. Marshals Service used its multi-jurisdictional investigative authority and fugitive task force network to arrest 648 gang members and others wanted on charges including 559 for homicide; and 946 for sexual offenses. In addition, investigators seized 463 firearms, $390,360 in currency, and more than 71 kilograms of illegal narcotics. Also during the operation, investigators recovered 17 children who had been abducted and reported missing.

So for this shot we were shooting around Chaels house and her and her dad are really into vinyls they literally have thousands in their house so I thought of this idea to lay them on the floor in my head. I like the idea and the shot but for processing wasnt sure what to do. Let me know what you guys think.
Oh and her favorite vinyl of all is the Ke$ha one so it had to be by her glaring at me.

This page shows some very interesting drawings, and it seems like we can extend some of these concepts to mountain artillery and perhaps mountain mortars altogether. The 'flaming bomb' patch worn on the side of the caps is really cool. I've never seen it before.
Also, I've never really considered that the cap had this strange configuration, because you could wear it in two ways, as shown on this drawing... I wonder why we've never seen a picture of it being worn like that. It must not have been very popular.
Now for something I will actually listen to your opinions on. Two F7s: On the left is a $4 Brick Loot headlight brick. On the right is a $34 setup with a $10 LifeLites MCU, a $10 LifeLites rotator LED (top), and a BrickStuff warm white LED (bottom) which run upwards of $4 a piece. Sorry for the low-quality video.
For reasons unrelated to the weather, the tram line was closed between Cator Lane and Meadows Way. Some sort of service was maintained between Toton Lane P&R and Cator Lane using at least one tram, but was unadvertised so I came across it by chance. There were no departures showing on the tram stop displays and no destinations on the tram itself, which is quite unusual since NET usually have short workings or curtailments due to engineering displayed properly.
Having reached Cator Lane (in the background) here is 232 beginning its short journey back towards Toton Lane, running 'wrong road', travelling slowly and with hazard lights flashing. The crossover point to switch to the usual side of the tracks is visible on the lower left.

As Creations for Charity comes to an end for 2012 we would like to take this time to thank everyone for their generous donations of time and creations. With everyone’s stellar efforts this has been the best year to date for the charity and a lot of kids will have a wonderful Christmas this year.
We would also like to thank everyone for their guessing donations for our mini fund raiser: Guess the Quantity and Weight for a bag of bases.
There were a total of 198 guesses made in 2 days raising $59.40 in donations. We are matching that amount so the total raised for Creations for Charity is $120.00.

I Swear, i looked at my order and how it was placed. The Light on the table and the super cool, sexy, ultra dooper looking cappuccino and cream with cookies and i thought, damn!
On this note, the only thing was instantly hit with on the back of my mind (other than the Grey Goose bottle of vodka gifted to me 5 mins back that intoxicated my thoughts) was the kind of compositions and lighting archana does with a lot of her kick ass coffee/tea table shots.
