This poor chap looked miserable as sin when we first walked past.
A couple of minutes later, 2 little girls came to buy some candy floss and his face lit up.
The man lives to make the kids happy, bless him!
I never got a chance to introduce Moonmallow’s newest little friend, Fairy Floss. She joined my plushie family during the holidays and was a decoration (ornament) on our tree. She was one of a few limited edition ALS ornaments Holly made and I felt lucky to get her!
“Fairy floss” is another term (in Australian English) for cotton candy, which is what I think she looks like. ^__^ She’s so sweet; I couldn’t resist naming her something yummy.
Night Heron with a morsel
This bird waited for 30 minutes with its beak 6 inches from the water surface before landing this tasty meal. She was 2 meters from me with the camera being 2 cm above the water surface. Almost full frame with very very little post production with LR, CS2 and Noise Ninja.

i have a new love, linen embroidery floss. the colors are wonderful, and i love how it works; easily and quickly. just beautiful.
Hey, look what I made! The result of the woodworking class I took during the winter. A special box to put all my embroidery floss.
It was the first time since sixth grade that I worked with wood, so I had a lot to learn but I'm really happy with the end result! All it needs now is handles on the drawers and maybe some paint (haven't decided on that yet).
This week’s theme for my Macro Mondays group is “Abundance/Abundant.” This is an empty dental floss container lit from the back by the sunshine. As you can see, the inside of the container has an abundance of wax that fell off the floss as it was pulled out of the container. In addition, the container itself has an abundance of flecks in the plastic. The colours and shapes initially caught my attention here as well as the little specs inside the container.
One of my three (haha, addicted?) embroidery floss boxes.
I have mild OCD so playing with my floss is a harmless way for me to indulge myself. I like to rearrange them by numerical order, and then into a rainbow by colour. It's very soothing to play with the spools (bobbins? cards?), and almost meditative to wind the floss onto the cards.
I also get a lot of inspiration just by playing with colour combinations.
( Edited with Picnik because I love rounded corners. )
