The gardening girls are out enjoying the daffodils and also studying an unusual pot at Turton Tower. The holes in the side are a complete mystery.
Die Salza ist durch die Presceniklause aufgestaut. Diese wurde 1848 als Stauwehr für die Holztrifft erreicht und viel später in ein Kraftwerk umgebaut.
Lange Zeit wurden die dort abgelassenen Fluten dafür verwendet,
mit Holzflössen das geschlägerte Holz zur Enns zu transportieren. Für die Flösser war das eine sehr gefährliche Reise.

We were in the disappointing desert of Abu Dhabi. Disappointing because it was sold as the 'highest dunes in the world' and perhaps they are but after spending time in the desert of Lybia, there is no comparison. This dromedary was busy chewing some hay and he just looked like he was flossing!

The little lighthouse at bamburgh on stag rocks. We were treated to some lovely candy floss pinks in the reflected sunrise sky on Sunday. It felt great to be back out for a sunrise after such a long time.

Ageratum is a genus of around 60 flowering annuals and perennials from the family Asteraceae.
Fond memory - ageratum was the first plant my father gave me to grow many decades ago when I was young.
I knew them as floss flower and they reminded me of the candy floss I saw at the local fair.
Most species are native to Central America and Mexico but I learned that four are native to the United States.
The fluffy flowers are lavender-blue, pink, lilac, or white, and spread in small compound umbels. They give small, dry fruits.
Both open flowers and buds (lower right) can be seen in this image.

Two boys on a vintage narrowboat at a rally in the 1990s. One of the boys is eating candy floss - love the kettle! Something indescribable lurks in the jam jar on the floor. The boys were aware I was photographing them but they were far too intent on something going on at the stern of the boat to pay me much attention. I think the name of the boat was "Dane" but not absolutely sure.

The London Eye under a poink candy floss sky as the day comes to an end.
Large alligator at Brazos Bend State Park in Needville, TX, they are famous for their gators. Can see many missing teeth, scars on his snout, etc. I thought this perspective was interesting. Some sun on the day I was there, Alligators were out on the bank sunning, this one was about 9' tip to tip.
The Fox and the Crow
A Fox once saw a Crow fly off with a piece of cheese in its beak and settle on a branch of a tree. "That's for me, as I am a Fox," said Master Reynard, and he walked up to the foot of the tree. "Good-day, Mistress Crow," he cried. "How well you are looking to-day: how glossy your feathers; how bright your eye. I feel sure your voice must surpass that of other birds, just as your figure does; let me hear but one song from you that I may greet you as the Queen of Birds." The Crow lifted up her head and began to caw her best, but the moment she opened her mouth the piece of cheese fell to the ground, only to be snapped up by Master Fox. "That will do," said he. "That was all I wanted. In exchange for your cheese I will give you a piece of advice for the future: "Do not trust flatterers."
I am the Crow. The Foxes know who they are.
