Delicate snow drizzled over blooming flowers,

a fleeting embrace of winter's breath on spring's tender blush !!

A perfect morning today for a little trip down to Portsoy, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, with some fellow photographer pals for some sunrise photography. Conditions weren't perfect but they were pretty good. This light and colour only lasted a few minutes, so we had to work quickly all of a sudden. Glad I managed to get a shot in the bag.

Reflections and deep thoughts during Covid lockdown - life is fleeting.

See if you can spot the spooky bit!

Week 3

Skogafoss, Iceland.

Late evening direct sunlight created a rainbow right in front of the Skogafoss waterfall in Iceland. You could spend hours shooting nature abstracts. This is just one example of everchanging and fleeting scenes.

A watery wintery sun appeared for the last few minutes of this afternoon's dog walk, picking out the Wandy Law turbines (about 8 miles away as the crow flies).

Yesterday was a beautiful but very hot (for me anyway) day so the only good thing was to go for a walk in a forest. This is a lovely recreational forest walk called Oak Park Forest just outside Carlow Town and it is a beautiful place. I did have my camera and during my walk and much to my surprise, a fox appeared on the path and just as quickly disappeared. I managed to get this fleeting glance moments before the fox went back into the undergrowth. I like the shot despite being a bit far and not getting the face. It captures the sense of that fleeting moment.

A small bird hovers among the withered blossoms, light, attentive, without haste.

It shows that a good person doesn't live where everything is in bloom, but where they treat the past with respect.

Thus, from the finite, movement emerges, from the end, a quiet new beginning.

A good person is like this bird—

leaving no trace of destruction, but in every moment a fleeting peace, which makes the world a friendlier place for a breath.

A few moments prior to taking this shot I had slipped down a wet, grassy bank. No harm done, just a dent to my pride. Likely excited that the rain had finally stopped!

A few moments after taking this shot the rain set in again.

A fleeting moment.

This was the best view we got of Wastwater all day.

Still a great place to be. Maybe next time.

Thanks in advance for any comments or favourites you may like to make.

There's something truly magical about a sunset at the sea, especially when the sky becomes a canvas of vivid hues. The gentle lapping of the waves against the shore, combined with the breathtaking spectacle above, offers a perfect moment of peace and wonder. It's as if nature itself is taking a moment to celebrate the end of the day.

Floribunda rose “Poseidon “

This was taken just a few days ago. Since then we have had rain and very gusty winds punctuated by warm temps like yesterday which was the hottest Oct. 30th on record for our province. Consequently, most the trees are bare now. It seems like the fall colors were slow to start and then they disappeared so quickly. I have savoured these fleeting autumnal moments. This is a path very near to our house.

I wanted to get the sun shining through this thin gap on the Storr but by this time it was getting cloudier and there was only fleeting glimpses of the sun every minute or so this made it difficult to work out where to place my tripod for that moment the sun would re-emerge.

✨ Final Curtain Call at Tranquil Toes Retreat ✨

Darlings, foot lovers and other kinksters,

it is with a delicate sigh and an air of mystery that I announce the closing of Tranquil Toes Retreat as of December 1st. Yes, the whispers of time have caught up with us, and for now, our haven of soothing bliss will slip into the shadows.

But don’t mistake this for a goodbye. It’s only a suspenseful pause... perhaps a brief interlude, or a grand return in another chapter. Who can say? The future is a tantalizing enigma, as fleeting as the ripples in a warm foot bath.

For those who’ve graced our sanctuary, I invite you to indulge one last time before we close the doors, perhaps with a knowing smile — you never know what may come next.

Thank you for your loyalty, your serenity, and the moments of luxurious indulgence we've shared.

Until we meet again... or perhaps not.

Stay fabulous

Day 134

The beauty of a moment is that it's fleeting. By it's very nature, it slips through our fingers, making it that much more precious. *Quote*

"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact.

Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth."

A Little Blue Heron, having found nothing to eat in the flooded grasses, takes off to more fruitful places.

Before long, this vista will be wiped out by other buildings.

Looking east from Kitt Hill towards the distant hills of Dartmoor, with a brief spell of sunshine picking out a local landmark.

Covering 400 acres, Kit Hill is the most dominant landscape feature in East Cornwall. Located between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, this wild, rugged granite hilltop is famous for its fine views.

Brent Tor is one of the most impressive rock outcrops in Dartmoor. It is unusual as it is one of the few on Dartmoor not to be made of granite. In fact, it is formed from basaltic lava which flowed some 350 million years ago into a shallow sea that covered the area. As the lavas flowed out into the sea some solidified into globular masses known as pillow lavas. Others were broken up by explosive contact with the sea water. This lava formed a mound on the sea floor which was then eroded by sea currents with the resulting debris being washed down the slopes of the mound. Debris of this nature can still be seen loose on the southern slopes of the tor.

Brentor is famously topped by a church. Founded in 1130 by the local landowner Robert Giffard, St. Michael de Rupe church is the fourth smallest parish church in the UK and is believed to be the highest working church in southern England.

Not the best of rainbows last night but at least we got a scrap of one! Happy Friday!

The real nice part of the U.P. is that trains are very predictable, so seeing multiple trains at one location mere moments apart was kind of cool. Not long after the 3 Tilden cleared Palmer Line Jct., CN U745 pauses to wait for a more favorable signal before proceeding into Eagle Mills with all rail cars for LS&I to load tomorrow.

These little mushrooms are drying out very fast here in the sunny spring days. They live in some sandy soil and the heat has been getting turned up. Moments like these are fleeting and must be taken seriously as a photographer. But not too serious. lol.

a fleeting moment at the retiro park—where a pigeon takes flight, carving its path against the moody sky. the feathers stretch wide, catching the light, each edge outlined in quiet strength. the blurred waters and distant monument dissolve into whispers of the background, letting the bird own the frame. here, in black and white, is motion frozen and yet alive. it’s a pause before the air carries it further, leaving only a memory in its wake.

Every year, she waited for this moment. When the first cherry blossom petals began to dance in the breeze, she knew spring had finally arrived. Holding a freshly picked bouquet in her hand, she walked slowly under the rosy shade of the branches, savoring each second like a fragile treasure.

The gentle wind carried away the last traces of winter, sweeping along memories of a season gone by. Here, beneath this tender sky, time seemed to pause… a fleeting moment, an enchanted interlude, as if the world was whispering to her: "Live. Feel. Love."

a figure moves through a colonnade of light and shadow.

the stone is old and permanent. the light is a temporary fact of the afternoon.

the person is a blur, a brief disturbance in the geometry of the place.

a shape of haste, caught for a fraction of a second between two pillars.

in a city, we are all just fleeting shapes, passing through corridors of stone.
