"Black, white, green, red"... Well 3 out of 4 ain't bad!

There are so many colours in the market stalls of south east Asia. Some of these vegetables might be familiar to you while others may not be. There is always plenty of choice!

Sculpture (and fountain during the summer season) called “De fem världsdelarna” (English: The Five Continents). The sculpture consists of five females representing five continents: Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Australia (Oceania). A ship at the top is seen sailing five streams, symbolizing the five oceans. The sculpture was made by Tore Strindberg and inaugurated in 1927. It is situated in the square Järntorget.

This wasn’t the planned shot as the engine wasn’t working but it opened up just in time to allow this quick second shot. The rear of the train has been cropped off to hide Class 33 no. 33207 which assisted the Black Five during the day.

We spent about a month in Bulgaria this summer. We were there once before--in 2019, also for about a month--and instantly fell in love with the country. That summer we hiked the Bulgarian National Trail, the Kom Emine, which coincides with the E3, crossing Bulgaria from Kom Peak in the West to Cape Emine on the Black Sea in the East. That trail had some awesome scenery but was somewhat more of a cultural experience, since it had almost no foreign tourists and crossed through extensive stretches where people were engaged in shepherding, forestry and agriculture.

While we were there we made friends and learned of the Five Mountains Trail, which coincides with the E4 and crosses Bulgaria from Sofia in the north to the Greek border in the south. It is a more developed, heavily traveled, and rugged alpine trail. We knew we would return to do that some day, and when the opportunity presented itself this summer we jumped at it.

In about 250km the trail passes through five mountain ranges: Vitosha, Verila, Rila, Pirin and Slavyanka. There are many peaks and passes over 2000m, and the scenery in Rila and Pirin rivals that of much more famous European ranges. The trail also boasts a very well developed hut system so that you can end most days with good food, drink, company and shelter, which is usually what we chose to do.

The leopard (Panthera pardus) is one of the five species in the genus Panthera, a member of the Felidae. The leopard occurs in a wide range in sub-Saharan Africa and parts of Asia and is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List because leopard populations are threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation and are declining in large parts of the global range. In Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuwait, Syria, Libya, Tunisia and most likely in Morocco, leopard populations have already been extirpated.

Contemporary records suggest that the leopard occurs in only 25% of its historical global range. Leopards are hunted illegally, and their body parts are smuggled in the wildlife trade for medicinal practices and decoration.

Compared to other wild cats, the leopard has relatively short legs and a long body with a large skull. It is similar in appearance to the jaguar, but generally has a smaller, lighter physique. Its fur is marked with rosettes similar to those of the jaguar, but the leopard's rosettes are smaller and more densely packed, and do not usually have central spots as the jaguar's do. Both leopards and jaguars that are melanistic are known as black panthers.

The leopard is distinguished by its well-camouflaged fur, opportunistic hunting behaviour, broad diet, and strength (which it uses to move heavy carcasses into trees), as well as its ability to adapt to various habitats ranging from rainforest to steppe, including arid and montane areas, and its ability to run at speeds of up to 58 kilometers per hour (36 mph). – Wikipedia

Perhaps it reflects myself at present - just been told missed out on a long

I don't practice telefoto landscapes much, but Bryce Canyon NP is the perfect place to use zoom lenses for unique landscapes. There are so many different hoodoos and layers in Bryce that almost every composition will be unique. Here is a shot that I focused on the large brighter hoodoo and noticed some nice layering behind the hoodoo. This is a late afternoon shot as the sunset shots in Bryce are blocked out and there is zero light on the landscape.

The highlight of the Old Oak Common Open day today was a line up of six class 50s. Unfortunately 50 050 was tight up against the wall of a building so was in shadow all day so only it's buffer intrudes at left in this composition of the other five; 50 049, 50 044, 50 017, 50 026 and 50 007. This is probably because it was on the naughty step after failing yesterday while engaged in shunting a line of 13 locos that proved too much for the turbo.

Spotted these five on the other side of the Drinking Dragon! They look chilled and dry so I guess they've been out of the water for quite a while. Maybe they're waiting for the tide to come in and float them off!

They are very swift flyers and has been chasing this one for quite some time till it decided to stop for a rest. In no time, he is off again doing his swift erractic flight.
