We had such a great time on our Arizona Storm Chasing Workshops! Yesterday was our final day and admittedly the storm forecast was looking bleak. Greg and I looked at several different models and decided to place our bets on an area out west of Tucson. Sure enough, several storms fired up while we were there almost exactly in line with what the models forecasted! We were able to capture some great daytime lightning shots as the storms swept over the vast desert.

Final dedication towards my grandfather since he past away last wednesday and yesterday's funeral.
Took this shot during the sunset in a cornfield which really delivered a very nice atmosphere within the field and in the photo's. Evenhow I took a lot of shots as usual, I only processed just four of them since my criticism lately. Really like the soft colours, bokeh and the nice lightning of the sun.

I think this was one of my favorite shoots this summer. I posted more shots on my blog. Oh wait. I mean fall. It was shot in the first weekend of october! Still. Felt more like summer than most days in july and august. I love the seaside. It calms me down.

After 38 years of service NS's famous "Road Railers" are being taken East to Detroit for the final time. This is due to 256 and 255 being replaced with a more conventional intermodal style. The new trains would run under the 251/252 symbol. Had an amazing time chasing this guy all throughout central Illinois.

A surge in grain shipments in late 1998 and early 1999 forced BNSF to pull its remaining GP20s from storage. The majority of them worked the lines in and around the Twin Cities during this time. Here, three have slipped away from their intended duties to handle M-NTWSUP1-17 to Superior. By June 1999, all would be stored off property and sold.

It is not uncommon for us to be into winter-like conditions by this time of the year, but we have had a reprieve this year and continue to enjoy some reasonably nice weather. As a result this red squirrel has been given some additional tme to make his final preparations for the winter. I came upon him while on a walkabout on my day off last week. I watched him for a bit as he did some kind of work on the top of this broken off poplar. I liked the overall mood of the shot, so it is my share for the day.
