She's 8 and a figure skater. Or so we thought. In January of 2023, she joined girls under 9 hockey. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be already travelling to her first tournament and seeing her actually win. She's one of the smallest out there but she plays with heart and those little legs can fly.
As much as it is all for fun, before every game she becomes silent as she waits to take the ice. This is her wait before the championship.

Mural by Zabou of Nubya Nyasha Garcia, a British jazz musician, composer and bandleader.
In the 80s & 90s every large scale artwork or community mural seemed to have a sax player in it.... i'm so chuffed this traditional continues but now with top billing.
The fourth time Zabou has painted this portrait of B.K.Foxx on Brick Lane in an attempt to tame the toys.
The sousaku kokeshi doll on the left in from the 1970's and measures 9.5 inches. The design is by Kishi Sadao who has won an award for this doll. The wheat stalks are burned in the wood by hand. The pattern celebrates the wheat harvest in Japan.
The Creative kokeshi doll in the right is by a design from one of the rare female kokeshi artists. The doll is 34 cm tall and is from the 1980's.

You're once, twice, three times a painted lady.
This is the third time Zabou has painted this portrait of B.K.Foxx, entitled Born to Paint, on Brick Lane, the other two efforts being lost to taggers.
This artist, Casey O'Connell, painted this mural in the oh-so-charming Marigny Neighborhood in New Orleans; it's called "The Ol' Razzle Dazzle". I loved it before I saw her title, but now it's taken up permanent residence in my heart.
Her work is all over the land, and I'm so glad I got to see some of it for myself. Would you just look at those kissy marks she put on his cheeks?! I'm certifiably in love.

"Arabella" music video:
This drawing just knocks me out! Donna has an endless imagination and in this piece shows it off completely. While the scan and further adjustments show a very accurate view of this drawing, the glitter from pens fails to show up. Both colored pencil and assorted pens were used.
This flower exists among the grass, but it doesn’t hide.
It is thick, bold, visible.
It doesn’t adapt. It doesn’t disappear into the background.
It is built according to a natural order that needs no approval: the Fibonacci sequence.
It is proof that beauty, coherence, and strength exist even where no one is looking.
I left the flower in color, turning the grass black and white—
to make it clear what matters, what deserves to stand out, what must no longer be lost in the background.
This flower is me: I do not blend in.
I resist.
In a precise, full form—yet invisible to most.
I am not seeking approval. I am existing.
And that is enough.
