This is my brother-in-law’s 1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass F85. He’s rebuilt this car from the ground up, over a duration of 16 years. Many of the parts for this car are custom made. She’s a beautiful piece of work, inside and out.

This image as taken on the same morning as the one in b&w posted before. The early morning sun created quite a high contrast scene so I decided to shoot this on Provia 100F. It also shows the huge difference in rendering between Velvia 100 and Provia 100F.

"This rare UK car from new, with manual gearbox, has had just two owners. It comes with twenty-five MoT's covering 1972 to 1976 and 1996 to 2018. The car has been unused and stored for the last three to four years. The vendor is warranting the 55,000 miles that have been covered.

Thin Air Car Show, Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. Starting with these 1964 models, F-85 and Cutlass sales took off, making them a top seller for General Motors. My opinion: easily the best looking of all the GM intermediate cars for the following quarter century, especially during the dreadful Colonnade years.

This X5 M had some exterior upgrades and an insanely loud exhaust system. It was much louder than anything on German streets and I'm surprised that you would want that as the owner of a vehicle.

The 442 was introduced in 1964 as a muscle car. It was introduced as an option package for Cutlass and F85 models.
The 1966 model shared a modest face lift with other Cutlasses Its major news was the addition of two new optional engines: the L69, with three two-barrel Rochester 2GC carburetors on a progressive linkage, rated at 360 hp (268 kW) and 440 lb·ft (597 N·m) of torque, which was priced at US$264.54,[3] and the rare W30. The standard engine, now dubbed L78, was rated 350 hp (261 kW)/440 ft·lbf with a single four-barrel carburetor.
Hurst shifters were now standard equipment with floor-mounted manual transmissions including the optional heavy-duty three-speed, M-20 wide-ratio four-speed or M-21 close-ratio four-speed. The standard transmission was a three-speed manual with column shift and the two-speed Jetaway automatic with switch-pitch torque converter was optional. The standard 350-horsepower 400 engine could be ordered with any of the four transmissions, while only manual transmissions could be ordered with the L69 three two-barrel option.
Inside, a revised instrument panel featured two round pods for the speedometer and other instruments, replacing the horizontal sweep speedometer of 1964-65 models, but the rest of the basic dashboard designed was unchanged. F-85 models had base interiors with bench seats and rubber floor mats while the more lavish Cutlass versions came with full carpeting and featured Strato bucket seats of a new design with higher and thinner seat backs, or a no-cost bench seat option.
Production slumped to 21,997. The 442 still constituted only about 10 percent of Cutlass sales, whereas Pontiac's GTO represented nearly a third of all Tempests sold.

I noticed this small red door in one of the back alleys at the Jingshan park and in the late afternoon, the remaining light was casting some interesting shadows which prompted this shot. The reds look stunning on the Velvia 100 as can be expected.

From a brochure titled Oldsmobile Sports cars, which also included the full size Jetfire and Starfire. More of the Personal Luxury kind than sports cars.
Shot from the most popular spot of the western corner tower of the forbidden city just after my exposure on Fomapan 100. This image was shot on Fujifilm Velvia 100 slide film and it shows a huge contrast beween the redesigns in comparison with Provia 100F.
Provia 100F tend to be much more "realistic" than Velvia, even though this Velvia is not as nearly as dramatic as Velvia 50.

Shooting large format in windy conditions is always going to be a challenge, however, more than once the Chamonix Alpinist X has proven to be very wind resistant, especially given it's weight it is extremely stiff and sturdy when fully setup. I was even using my 300mm lens here so the bellows were not at the shortest setting. Luckily for me I was shooting with the sun behind my back while standing in the shadow so I could minimise the use of the dark cloth.
I did not bother waiting for the lights to come on as it would have been way too contrasty for the color slides I was packing that day (Velvia 100) and neither did I wait until the sun was almost about to set, mainly because the horizon looked very haze due to the passing sandstorm and my chances for good light were getting slimmer and slimmer.
