The abandoned farmstead of Hringver on the F85 north of Húsavik, Tjörnes in North Iceland.
Imagining seeing that view every day, it must have been with heavy hearts the people left.
That said, we were there on a simply stellar afternoon with little wind and gorgeous light. I am sure that in this exposed position the farm cops it regularly.
The little island in the middle of the Skjálfandi Bay is Lundey and the distant, mountainous landform is the Fjörður Peninsula.

While this is a re-up of a horrible edit, I'd previously found some information about the farm on an Icelandic Flickr user's photo from the same location - and repeat it below:
The last people to live at Hringver were two sisters who took over the farm from their parents. After their father passed away they lived there with their mother until she died. The sisters never used any modern farming machines. All job was done by hand. One of them was a big fan of the Beatles and her favourite song was Yesterday. In 1975 they moved to an old people’s home in the nearby village Húsavík and nobody has lived at Hringver since the sisters left.

From the mid-1910s through the early 1920s, Ford dominated the automotive market with its Model T. However, during the mid-1920s, this dominance eroded as competitors, especially the various General Motors divisions, caught up with Ford's mass production system and began to better Ford in some areas, especially by offering more powerful engines, new convenience features, or cosmetic customization
The A-Model Ford or the A, and A-bone among hot rodders and customizers) is the Ford Motor Company's second market success, replacing the venerable Model T which had been produced for 18 years. By February 4, 1929, one million Model As had been sold, and by July 24, two million.

The 1937 Ford featured a more rounded streamline look with fine horizontal bars in the convex front and hood-side grilles. The front grille was V-shaped, rather than following the fenders into a pentagon shape, as on the 1936 model. The Trunkback' versions continued gaining in sales.
The Ford line of cars was updated in 1937 with one major change — the introduction of an entry-level 136 cu in (2.23 L) V8 in addition to the popular 221 cu in (3.62 L) flathead V8.
Richfield Oil Corporation was an American petroleum company based in California from 1911 to 1966. In 1966, it merged with Atlantic Refining Company to form the Atlantic Richfield Company (later renamed ARCO).
During World War II, two Richfield Oil tanks were bombarded by the Imperial Japanese Army on February 23, 1942, in an attack on the Ellwood oil field, which is west of the city of Santa Barbara in California. This attack by the Japanese submarine I-17 was the first attack on continental America during the war.

The fourth generation Ford Thunderbird is a large personal luxury car produced by Ford for the 1964 to 1966 model years. Ford restyled this generation of the Thunderbird in favor of a more squared-off, "formal" look. The only remnant of the Thunderbird's former sporty image was that the standard 390-cubic-inch 300 hp (224 kW) V8 engine which needed nearly 9.1 seconds to push the heavy T-bird to 60 mph (97 km/h). The quarter mile took a leiserly 16.7 second. The softly sprung suspension allowed considerable body lean, wallow, and float on curves and bumps. Contemporary testers felt that the Buick Riviera, Pontiac Grand Prix, and Chrysler 300K were substantially more roadworthy cars, but the Thunderbird retained its leading market share.
And she had Fun, Fun, Fun, until Henry Ford took her T-bird away.
The revised model was initially offered as a hardtop, convertible, and Landau, with vinyl roof, simulated landau irons, and wood grain interior appointments. The Sports Roadster was discontinued for this generation, however, a dealer offered convertible tonneau cover and wire wheels option was still available.

Salt is off the roads and it's getting into the 60s next week with no freezing temps overnight... can't wait to get spotting again!

I was the only car there, they waited till I was on after taking pictures of the lighthouse and Osprey. Then the ferry went to the other side, almost like a personal service.
----------------------------------------------------
On all the maps etc. that I looked at this ferry is no longer in service. It was there when I was taking pictures of the lighthouse and when I went on it immediately took me to the other side, saving me time to get to my next destination.
