Extinction Rebellion art by Jane Mutiny in Shoreditch, tying in neatly with events in central London and elsewhere. I like the way Jane has left outlines for her subjects, highlighting the fact they are disappearing from our planet. By extension the person passing by faces the same fate...At least that seems to be the message Extinction Rebellion are trying to convey.

Bristol on Brexit Eve. It was a protest about the proposed airport extension. Not many people turned up, Brexit Eve and it was raining...not surprising. But I listened to the speeches. One knowledgeable soul said that the recent extinction of the koalas was due to aeroplanes. I felt terrible since I am, or at least was, a designer of flying machines. I wanted to jump up to the podium and protest about 5G smartphones! Who has one, and are they happy that the rocket efflux resulting from sending the thousands of 5G supporting satellites into orbit will not wash out of the atmosphere? The stuff above about 60,000 ft will remain forever anyway. 5G is a Global Warming killer of koalas...and maybe you too.

Stanley Johnson and others at Extinction Rebellion in Trafalgar Square yesterday. What a pity Stanley can't save us from Boris...

Clearly not. How's a guy supposed to kip with this racket going on...

Bath Spa UK. One of the protests against climate change held today across our beautiful planet.

A ‘Mass’ demonstration by ‘The Extinction Rebellion’ group taking place along Deansgate, Manchester, UK.

Joe public are up in arms with the police and the local council as they allowed the 4 day demonstration to take place along Deansgate, the main route through the City centre; chosen by the demonstrators as they say it is the most polluted street in the City. In defence of the police they maintained that allowing the closure of the road would result in less trouble and fewer arrests; I don’t know if there were any. This young lady was the sole person on view, representing the City of Hull, in their encampment; she looked extremely cold. Looking in the other direction, (behind me), the scene wasn’t much better; in other words not a great turnout. This had nothing like the impact the demonstration had in London a few weeks back. The weather wasn’t great but I still think the turnout would have been poor.

Nous pourrions nous inspirer des animaux pour trouver une nouvelle source de sagesse, après l'échec de nos philosophes classiques occidentaux qui nous ont conduits à la destruction de la Nature. Nous n'avons qu'une seule planète pour vivre !

Extinction Rebellion. These tripods are used on controversial sites such as the Adani mining development to obstruct activities in a peaceful way. I had a nice chat with this girl, Clancy, about their activities. Rebellion Extinction information stall at West End.

In fact, five thousand of ER say they are prepared to be arrested and this means they are ignoring

that the police want them all in Trafalgar Square, and not on so many London bridges!

….among many more!

Protesters from the Group Extinction Rebellion marched through the City of Brighton on the 31st October 2021 to highlight the climate and ecological emergency the world is facing. The march was timed to take place on the same day as the COP summit began in Glasgow.

The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP 26 (Conference of Parties), is the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference.

In a speech to the crowds one protestor said

“26 times they’ve met, but all of that accumulated power has left us where we are now – still facing a temperature increase of more than two degrees over this century,”.
