This happened 3 hrs earlier. Reportedly, the faculties manager smelled gas, evacuated the building and called the propane company. Somehow the manager was inside when it blew and has my prayers. The propane guy was outside but was injured by the blast anyway. Also in my prayers.
This was at a local firework demonstration evening.I was disappointed with my camera's reaction, but this was one of the best colours of the show.

An explosion of lights over Kirkjufell in Western Iceland.. This is what we were greeted to on our first night there. Enjoy!
The sunset was rather boring this night. The low clouds on the horizon had hidden the sun as it set. Although the clouds were interesting there color was dull. I was starting to pack up my gear when the setting sun got at just the right angle to cause the clouds to explode with color. It only lasted a few minutes, but what a sunset. The Red River really turned RED!
This is about the best firework I got from New Years Eve 2018, unfortunately this year the trees were taller and the fireworks were more to the right out of sight. But at least I tried.
I'll have another attempt for fireworks on the Australia Day Weekend coming up.

Born 1971 in Lüneburg (Germany), currently living in Hamburg, Mirko Reisser has become known as an artist worldwide especially for his large size graffiti works in the 3D-style, in which he depicts his writer name DAIM in serial repetition and within processes of construction and deconstruction. The book Mirko Reisser (DAIM) 1989 – 2014 is the most extensive publication of the artist’s œuvre so far. In 1989 he realized his first works in the public space – in 2014 the artist looks back on his artistic career that spans 25 years.
