Launch of Jupiter-C/Explorer 1 at Cape Canaveral, Florida on January 31, 1958. After the Russian Sputnik was launched in October 1957, the launching of an American satellite assumed much greater importance. When the Vanguard rocket exploded on the pad in December 1957, the ability to orbit a satellite became a matter of national prestige. The ABMA (Army Ballistic Missile Agency) at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama, in cooperation with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, launched a Jupiter rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The rocket consisted of a modified version of the Redstone rocket's first stage and two upper stages of clustered Baby Sergeant rockets developed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

A comparison between the legendary Galaxy Explorer and the Galaxy Dropship. The Dropships cargo area is bigger and may hold the space buggy from the other alternate build of this set proposal. But it also may carry other vehicles (from its own build scenario) like the science lab pictured here or the truck or the trailer with or without tanks...

Technical:
Play, play n play with levels and curves.....:D
I use Mr.Orton effect here.
1) Just duplicate layer.
2)Then goto upper layer and on blend modes of layers and select SCREEN.
3)Now again on upper layer add filter > gaussian blurr of 30-40 amount.
4)You should now play with opacity of layer for desired results.

EXPLORE 6.28.10 ~thank you!! From a recent session. This sweet one made me work for smiles, but I love these contemplative looks all the same, sometimes even more....
A dramatic pose by quite a few cosplayers at the GA Aquarium. I got smart this time and brought my tripod and remote trigger do that I could take good (or better!) shots in the ambient light - without a flash - and no blurriness. Go me!!!
Tech stuff: used Topaz Adjust's "Dark - Ghostly" filter on a copied layer of the image then very slowly and carefully erased the filter (29% opacity and flow) from that layer with a "water brush" (PS brush that simulated water such as waves) until I got the effect I wanted with a bit of a watery vibe to the photo.
Comments? Critiques? You want to have my babies? C'mon, give me something to work with here, people! ;->

I got caught in a hail storm on the walk back from rehearsals today. & then there was a rainbow outside & the light was gorgeous so I went to take photos & it started hailing again. I didn't know if my camera would respond well to hail so I zipped it into my sweatshirt & then sheltered under this rose bush that grows up the side of our house. Not fun. But also kinda fun.
I need to remember to use my Mom's computer tomorrow so I can photoshop some of the window shots!
Hannah was actually jumping quite high here, but the way I cropped it hides that. There was way too much overblown floor.

I'm glad I got explore as at first I wasn't sure it was worth the effort.
I had to spent ages finding the right crop.
& then it was too saturated.
I pushed it into b&w & then lazily painted her body back in.
Then her legs looked too orange so I had to desaturate that.
& it still looked horribly bare, so I messed around with a vignette.
& the crop still wasn't right so I had to look at that again.
It seems so simple looking back on it.
But there were just so many things wrong with it originally.
People like it though, so that's a good thing.
No more delays! I’m not quite done with it, but here’s my updated take on the iconic Galaxy Explorer. It has a gear operated landing system, which I will post pictures of later. Hope you enjoy!
is the underestimation of content more than double the overestimation of our wildest dreams?
getting an image explored used to be my main adjudicator of a successful photo. i also became obsessed with the individual stats of the photo, and seemed to get hung up on all statistical trimmings. but i've since realised the concept and the way a photo makes us feel is so much more important than what flickr decides is good by exploring it. photography, like art is subjective, so if no one else likes it, even better.
