Sympathetic spot discovered with Yoann yesterday afternoon accessible to low tide after a small walk on the preceding beach. This range is bordered with very high mangroves trees and the sand covered by places with black leaves. When we arrived, the sun was nearly below the horizon, we had to quickly find elements of composition (while avoiding being bitten by a group of horseflies :-). The facade sculpture “Venus crest” is by sculptor Hubert Minnebo.
It is 11 meters high. The fish represents the sea, the woman represents the earth and the bird represents the sky. The fourth primal element, fire, is missing here figuratively, but is reflected in the material of the artwork, copper, which is born of fire and also symbolizes the sun. It was installed in 2003.

Again burnt out I know, but hey this was the scene on the day, and a beautiful few moments it was. I uploaded a very similar version in colour earlier this week but I'm a sucker for black and white :-) There is something special about standing in a grove like this as the sun pours in early in the morning. Thankfully I have scenes like this all around me, I know I am lucky.
If I thank you all individually I'll never get out with my camera again! So thank you one and all for every view, comment and fav :-)
Thanks Explore (#171). Position (#257)
Strong winds aloft helped to produce these beautiful clouds late morning.

Managed to get my RGB on the last possible night before the moon was a problem. Saying that the moon still affected the images and had to restrict my subs to 3min. Because of this I didn’t get as much of the fainter detail as I wanted.
I had two terrible nights before this, not only was I battling poor seeing but Dec guiding was terrible. I found that the Dec axis was not running as freely as it should and was slightly sticking at certain points. I removed the Dec shaft and found there was pitting on one of the two spacer plates either side of one of the bearings at the clutch end. I clean these up as best I could with some wet and dry paper and re-grease the bearing. I’m pleased to say that it runs more Smoothly and seems to have sort that problem. There was one other unexpected problem, my Laptop went into hibernation mode even though it was connected to the mains, unplugging it and plugging it back in solved that. Due to this I only managed 50 subs on the final night but managed to salvage 14 from the previous two nights, so got there in the end.

Let the new night bring you peace
And the promise of tomorrow,
Where we can wake to a new beginning.
Tomorrow, I'll have only lost their faces-
My friends and family,
Memories of all we had
And the times we should have lived,
And tomorrow America just might fall apart.
tomorrow, tell me,
Where will you wake up?
Beyond title, beyond lease, careers and laws,
Something more than borders on a map...
And the sun's always rising in the sky somewhere,
And if young hearts should explode
From all the lies they've been told...
To live through one night like this,
I would trade it for the silence...

We climbed down into an old mine to explore and photograph it. This mine is about 500- 600 meters long, the ice is wonderful so you can walk quite safely, a wonderful day in the underground.
Not sure of species for this little jumping spider. She was around 7 mm body length.
She may be tiny, but she is mighty. And with her 8 eyes and almost 360 degrees of vision, a formidable huntress.
