I never thought I could feel this power.
I never thought that I could feel this free.
I'm strong enough to climb the highest tower.
And I'm fast enough to run across the sea.

After getting a postcard from her friend in London, Suri decided to head north to the British Isles to do some exploring. She is wearing her comfortable walking shoes, has her camera, and a large bag for souvenirs. There is so much to see in London!

Talacre is a village in Flintshire on the north coast of Wales in the community of Llanasa.
It is near Point of Ayr on the west side of the River Dee estuary and has a sandy beach with dunes with large holiday caravan parks adjacent. The hills of the Clwydian Range behind the village form the eastern boundary of the Vale of Clwyd. The name Talacre is a combination of the Welsh words tal, meaning end, and acrau, meaning acres. In the north-east Welsh dialect, acrau is pronounced as acre.

Kolugljúfur Canyon is a stunning natural wonder located in the western part of Iceland. It is situated in the Víðidalur Valley, near the town of Hvammstangi. The canyon is carved by the Víðidalsá River, which flows through the rugged landscape, creating a picturesque gorge.
One of the highlights of Kolugljúfur Canyon is the Kolufossar Waterfall, which cascades down the cliffs into the river below. The waterfall is a popular spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts, as its powerful flow and picturesque setting make for stunning photographs.
As the sun begins to set, the cliffs of the canyon are illuminated, casting long shadows and creating a dramatic contrast against the deep blue sky. The colors of the surrounding landscape intensify, with the greens of the vegetation becoming more vibrant and the river reflecting the warm hues of the setting sun.
In summer at Iceland, sunset was about 11pm-12am, sunrise was about 1-2am, the night was too short. Always took sunset photos, then waiting for sunrise... Only 2-3 hours night (not really dark night) during summer time.

Sympathetic spot discovered with Yoann yesterday afternoon accessible to low tide after a small walk on the preceding beach. This range is bordered with very high mangroves trees and the sand covered by places with black leaves. When we arrived, the sun was nearly below the horizon, we had to quickly find elements of composition (while avoiding being bitten by a group of horseflies :-). For anyone who thought I was simply being negative with my Least Interesting 23 post, here’s a celebration of interestingness (sorry Caterina, Stewart, & all the wonderful folks @ Flickr – I still can’t say that w/o giggling. ;)! Ok.
I stopped by fd's Flickr Toys for a moment this evening, and discovered the Scout feature, something I had been unaware of. Here’s their own description:
”The quickest way to feed your compulsive desire to see if your digital photos are listed among the 500 photographs chosen each day for the Flickr Explore page.”
I haven’t such a compulsive desire. In fact, I tried it thinking that my THREE images (that I was aware of because some cool Flickrites had LMK =) would make for a pathetically amusing… whatever!
To my UTTER SHOCK, there were MORE THAN THREE! Here is a poster they made for me with the mere click of a mouse -- it includes SEVENTY-bloody-TWO images (I have a smaller poster of leftovers, too :)! As I said when I first heard that one of my posts was featured there: "someone at Flickr has a great sense of humor!" ;-)
I'm not even a real photographer -- just a big kid on the loose, dangerously armed with some cheap cameras! ^_^
Well, thank you for stopping by.

Again burnt out I know, but hey this was the scene on the day, and a beautiful few moments it was. I uploaded a very similar version in colour earlier this week but I'm a sucker for black and white :-) There is something special about standing in a grove like this as the sun pours in early in the morning. Thankfully I have scenes like this all around me, I know I am lucky.
If I thank you all individually I'll never get out with my camera again! So thank you one and all for every view, comment and fav :-)
