Feuerwerk Rheinkirmes 2016

Or, this is what happened to my appendix a little over a week ago. Being a tough guy (some might think an idiot), I went 5 days before the pain caused me to seek medical attention. Fortunately, an incredible medical staff, Doctor and Surgeon went to work on me and may have saved my life.

Now out of the hospital, recovery going very well; I hope to make an 11 hour drive into northern Arizona to attend a Family Reunion this coming week. It promises to be one of the best gatherings in many years.

This is going to keep my activity low on Flickr for awhile, but I'm looking forward to seeing all the great work that has been captured in my absence.

God Bless.

I love being at the power of the ocean~

Taken under a canal bridge. Previous rains meant that there was a steady fall of drips from the bridge into the water below. I took a lot of shots at different settings trying to capture these drops. Some worked, some didn't.

I narrowly escaped being washed off the rocks while shooting on this day. 10 metre high waves had been forecast. Respect the ocean!!

I set the camera on a tripod and focused on the egg.

The camera was set to B f8

I had the power cord from the flash which I cut the end off so when the two wires touch it fired the flash.

I taped the wires behind the egg with a 2mm gap and then turned the lights off and opened the shutter on the camera then I fired the air rifle and as soon as the pellet hit the egg, the two wires touched and fired the flash.

And there you have it.

Well that's the end of the bulb. No going back !!. It would have been nice if it had exploded into a thousand pieces but still great fun. Shot in daylight in the garden with no back drop so you might be able to see a few ghosts in the background from a bench didn't see it on the camera at the time.

The smoke was thick, and you could hear the fire crackling as it consumed the vegetation - then suddenly another tree would explode into flames. The ground crews waited impatiently for the planes to drop the fire retardant. After several passes to scope out the hottest spots, the retardant was dropped, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

After seeing Aquaman a few times, I have come to enjoy the scene where Black Manta explodes the bell tower and because of this, I decided to recreate it in Lego. For me, the challenge of this build was the explosion. Trying to build a suspended explosion was fairly challenging, but I feel that I am very pleased with the end result I came up with. Hope ya'll enjoy!

I took the photo of the exploding heart in Grugapark (Essen, Germany) as part of the "park lighting". In the b&w-processing I was of the opinion that the noise fits the subject, so I did not remove it.

When your head explodes inside and there is no other world around you, but the world of pain inside.

When it's gone, then there is silence. No pics, no words, no

emotions, just nothing and silence. Then the two parts of your brain try to swell together again, slowly.
