I had another go at processing my star trails from Castle Hill the other day by using fewer shots. When stacking the 60 shots using Sequator I forgot to set it to stack for star trails. Instead Sequator tried to align all the stars. The result I got was totally unexpected and literally out of this world!

First I took the foreground 240 sec exposure, f/5.0, ISO 3200. Next I took a timelapse of 120 images, 30 sec exposure,, f/2.8, ISO 1000, but I only used 30 images for this. Denoised in DxO PhotoLab 6.5. Star trails stacked using Sequator (using aligment). Finally composited with the foreground using Affinity Photo.

Pardon Me

Song by Incubus

Pardon me while I burst

Pardon me while I burst

A decade ago, I never thought I would be

At 23, on the verge of spontaneous combustion, woe is me!

But I guess that it comes with the territory

An ominous landscape of never-ending calamity

I need you to hear, I need you to see

That I have had all I can take

And exploding seems like a definite possibility to me

So pardon me while I burst into flames

I've had enough of the world and its people's mindless games

So pardon me while I burn and rise above the flame

Pardon me, pardon me, I'll never be the same

Not two days ago, I was having a look in a book

And I saw a picture of a guy fried up above his knee

I said I can relate, 'cause lately, I've been thinking of combustication

As a welcome vacation from the burdens of the planet Earth

Like gravity, hypocrisy, and the perils of being in 3D

But thinking so much differently, and

Pardon me while I burst into flames

I've had enough of the world and its people's mindless games

So pardon me while I burn and rise above the flame

Pardon me, pardon me, I'll never be the same

Never be the same, yeah

Pardon me while I burst into flames

Pardon me, pardon me, pardon me

So pardon me while I burst into flames

I've had enough of the world and its people's mindless games

So pardon me while I burn and rise above the flame

Pardon me, pardon me, I'll never be the same

Pardon me, I'll never be the same, yeah

The Church of Sanctuary of Our Lady of Tears, Syracuse, Sicily, built to honour of a local miracle in 1953, a weeping statue. It was completed in 1994 but took 28 years to build due to opposition to the design. As suggested by the title, I think the design was almost certainly based on an interpretation of an exploding teardrop.

Thanks for your interest

A lot of fun to watch the sky explode in color and to move around there in the field of leaves to capture that sunlight and color from the sky to the leaves. Fall splendor here in Maryland.

A bit of fun with a long exposure shot of the London Eye at night combined with zooming in and out during the exposure.

Stormy winter waves crashing onto the Partan Craigs sandstone rocks off Dysart beach. Unlike my previous wave photos there are no seagulls in shot, because the only living creature stupid enough to be out in those conditions was this dumb photographer! Made Explore #370 on 24 May 2008

This is about the best firework I got from New Years Eve 2018, unfortunately this year the trees were taller and the fireworks were more to the right out of sight. But at least I tried.

I'll have another attempt for fireworks on the Australia Day Weekend coming up.

Empieza a parir el sol

Un día sin nubarrones

Sus rayos como espadas

Los atraviesan, juegan

En definitiva los devoran

Pasa un viento suave

En medio de un remolino de mañanas

Arrastra como a la hierba seca

Estrellas apagadas

Duerme la luna plateada

Mientras el universo estalla en mil pedazos

Y nosotros perdidos en esta nueva bendición

Empieza a despuntar el alba

Paso a paso

Un nuevo día comienza a ser…

____

The sun begins to give birth

A day without clouds

Its rays as swords

The cross, play

Ultimately devour

Spend a soft wind

Amid a flurry of morning

Drag as dry grass

Star off

Sleep the silvery moon

While the universe explodes into a thousand pieces

And we lost in this new blessing

Start daybreak

Step by step

A new day begins to be

(Explore: Jun 06, 2008). Seeds in the wind

Thank you all very much for your visits, favs and comments. Each one is dearly appreciated!

Just think how many seed pods are in just one Cattail head. Look at the original size and you will see what I mean. Some are drifting off in the wind at the top. The day I shot this and some others it was 23 deg with the wind blowing.

If you like go to 'All Sizes' and look at either the 'Large' or better yet the 'Original'. Look just above the top bursting pod and you can see the fluffy seeds blowing away.

The Black/Whiteprocessing matches the drama of the moment as strong wind blew the crest off another wave behind.

The waves are channeled into this ice formation where they then explode looking like a volcano erupting.

An old pic taken last year, Wedge Island Sand dune.

My favorite tree 😀

I am not a fan of late autumn or winter but the colours at this time of year are just amazing.
