Sucked out from the deep
Sudden surge, on skin does seep
As it explodes and does race
Shooting out on to your face
Your tongue collects every single drop
You drink it all, you cannot stop
An insatiable urge, juices race
Over the beauty of your face
Sunrise explodes over West Island during this last weekend on the South Coast. A very tricky weekend of shooting with rain, spray and winds blowing straight into me most of the time!!

Powders on an old speaker with three flashes and Queen's "Another one bites the dust" for a bit of bass!
i love this urban legend.
although the coke and mentos eruption is a well known phenomenon
1. nobody has ever died for having mentos mints and coke together and
2. i suspect that basically any food, material or little animal dropped in coke might produce the same reaction. but i'm too lazy to set up a scientific experiment

An autumn rain storm in Michigan tamped down this exploding milkweed, turning it into a compelling perm as things dried out the next day. Free of charge!
The rising winter sun over the magical JökulsĂ¡rlĂ³n lagoon on Iceland's south coast.

Comments as always appreciated, but please no flashy award codes.
A water collision in a bubble as the bubble dissipates, the light is bounced off of a coloured background with 4 speedlight flashes, this is the first time I've tried to get a splash within the bubble as it bursts.
This Asclepias syriaca, common milkweed, is about to explode in fragrant blooms.
Various milkweed species are the only food of the larvae of Danaus plexippus, the monarch butterfly. We're ready for the monarchs with a ton of milkweed in three gardens.

Well, the 2002 Ford Exploder made a milestone today...200,000 miles! It hasn't been all fun and roses in the man vs. machine relationship, often times cursing Ford engineers. But we have been on some memorable trips and some incredible chases over the years. I pretty much know her faults and quirks, rely on her 4 wheel drive and tight turning radius. I guess the peeling hood paint (Thanks again Ford) and oncoming rust just add character.

Splashes of color explode in this high speed exposure.
In this image we dumped multiple glasses of colored water at once to create this colorful freeze-frame. We also added flour to the colored water to create a thicker appearance. Needless to say our studio was quite the mess afterward!
