I had the wrong camera the day I was here and was lucky to be able to catch the exploding car mid flight. (Yes i can see it was on a pole)

See where this picture was taken. [?]

Wave 'explodes' against outer harbour wall Anstruther. The VR on my Nikkon 70-300 is dodgy after I dropped it (klutz) so best I can do in circumstances

Red dyed water in white balloon against paper backdrop. Flash is set to right side.

Although the shadow is extreme, the drops seem to contrast the shadow nicely.

Shape of the water body resembles a heart (to me).

This was one of the HiJinx setups at the photography conference I went to this past weekend. The balloon was filled with corn starch and when popped, it set off a sound trigger that was hooked up to a strobe. Yes it’s been done before, but it was still fun to do in person =)

Happy Bonfire night everybody.

This is almost straight out of the camera, very little editing done.

Taken with a MAKE high speed flash trigger.

It's basically a firework inside a Rose, most of the stuff you can see coming out on the right is the fuse burning down (should have cut it shorter). Also the firework wasn't really inside the rose, more shoved towards the back of it - to really blow it apart I'd have had to bore a little hole for, but I'd made enough mess by the time I realised this.

Has given me some ideas for future shots though. There's just so many things to blow up!

a tiny sprite bomb placed inside plasticine and shot with a .22cal pellet

Rain drop exploding on impact. Shot hand-held towards the end of today's second shower.

Another sausage picture from HNRX!

It's gonna blow!

37.5 weeks

A few taken at Chichester Marina

while melting lead for bullet casting. Apparently in the move last year, some primers fell into the lead pot and were under a bunch of unusable cast bullets. As the lead melted, bang, bang, bang....10 lbs of molten lead flying about!!!

This is the first version. I am still playing around with this image.

took some pictures of the fireworks, trying a bunch of different things. first thing I ran across was this one. that's the shell explosion in the center.

Materials I used for this photo was a hammer, watermelon chunks, and my iPhone camera. The concept behind this photo was to make it seem like watermelon being smashed. The process of this photo was first I had to find the right angle for the photo. Then one of my partners held the hammer at it angle that made it seem like it had smashed the watermelon. lastly my partner through fruit chunks from above.
