It's hard to explain how challenging it was to get into this spot, so you will have to wait for the video :-)

Angelo approached me (Lisa was right behind me), and he tried to figure out how to get away from us.

When he realized that there is no way out, he attacked... he tried to bite me multiple times, but I wouldn't let him pass.

Angelo ran away, and then turned around to charge at me again. I wouldn't back down, so he ran away again.

The We are Here challenge on July 21 2018 was: Conspiracy Theory

Our tour guide cautioned us not to ask any questions about spaceships and aliens, on pains of being expelled from the tour. In spite of which, there were about half a dozen questions along those lines. So, in the name of decorum, this photo leaves the conspiracy theorizing up to the viewer.

By the way, if you go to Stonehenge, I highly highly highly recommend this Special Access tour by Pat Shelley, which gives you access to the central area of the monument after the crowds have gone. [edit] - it is special not only in the ability to see the stone circles up close, which is the climax of the evening tour. Before that, Pat and his team give you a wonderful walking tour of the Stonehenge ceremonial campus - an archaeological overview, Woodhenge, Durrington Walls, the burial mounds, the Cursus, and a walk up the Avenue to behold Stonehenge as the ancients might have done.

The McLaren MSO 688 Hypersport. Which is the "0,5" in 1,5 new cars. Let me explain.

Pretty early on in the year 2016, I decided to make it a ritual to make a McLaren coupé in 10-wide scale. This philosophic decision whether it should be something ended in one of my favorite creations to date: the McLaren 650S. This was then converted into a 675 LT. The 675 LT was the one I included in the different McLaren design pieces, like the yacht and the bus. Although the 675 LT was pretty nice, it lacked a few things that McLaren really needed.

Fun thing is that my design strategy is starting to look like real McLaren's strategy. The 2014 version of the MP4-12C was scratch built, the 650S in 2016 was based on that and the 675 LT was based on that.

So is this MSO HS. However, I changed some significant things. The engine and interior are too cramped to make more detailed than I could, so they haven't changed. The front has been smoothened, added some new bits in the splitter and the HS canards. The rear has barely changed, the diffusor has been adjusted to be slightly more realistic. The doors have been made 1 stud shorted but extend to the bottom of the car. And ofcourse, the adjustable 675 spoiler has been replaced by a fixed wing. The carbon roof and the intake were the final things to be added to this special McLaren.

All in all, the MSO HS has changed from it's predecessors, but not significantly enough to call it a new car. It did fit the Hellcat very well, that's why I decided to post it and feature it for the LUGnuts challenge.

I explained in my previous photograph how SELNEC PTE acquired some of the North Western Road Car Co Ltd stage carriage services, vehicles and depots. Interestingly the legal lettering on the side of this ex North Western Road Car Co Ltd Alexander Y-type (C49F) Leyland Leopard PSU3/3RT VDB 958 fleet number 958 is SELNEC Cheshire Bus Co Ltd Charles Street Stockport. Note the Cheshire fleet name but no mention of SELNEC, indeed SELNEC used a divisional organistion split into areas Central, Northern and Southern. The SELNEC livery suits the Alexander Y-type body, it would have looked better if it had a set of traditional Leyland wheel trims fitted.

Juneteenth was just recently signed into a national holiday, but it has been around a while. It commemorates when Union Army General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, TX on June 19, 1865 and brought enforcement of the Proclamation that had been signed 3 years prior, but was being ignored.

Some people were curious, so let me explain the physics ;) .

I know it's hard to believe, but that's it. No glue. The thing is, blue arrows show exactly where the force (mass of the model) is applied. Black technic pin does not bear any weight - it's there just to prevent sliding the ankle on the arches. As you can see, forces do not try to rip the arches apart - they actually push them together. Lower parts of the arches are pinned to the foot with Bars 3L covered with pneumatic hose, which makes them fit very tightly into Technic holes. And that's it. No "hard coupling" between the leg and the foot, which means that the foot is actually posable. Also please note that the ankle does not balance on the top of the arches, like it does in most of the big AT-AT models - it is moved to the side, as if it were actually sliding on the arches. Which I consider a nice touch :) .

Grandchildren playing on a tablet computer while on a birthday visit in Aarhus, Denmark on March 5, 2016.

Ok, this encounter takes a bit of explaining. I saw him briefly over a week ago. He was busking in downtown Toronto and I was hurrying to class. It was such an unusual sight tha I asked him if I could grab a photo and he gave the ok. It was a somewhat cluttered photo and I wanted to do better but he was in the midst of performing and I was running late for class. I also suspected this young man might have an interesting story to tell and I hoped to catch him on my way home to explain my project and find out more about him. It was not to be. He was gone when my class finished. Meanwhile, I googled his website and discovered that my intuition about an interesting story was correct. His background was beyond amazing. I was even more motivated to meet him again and get a better photo along with a chance to speak with him. The next couple of times I looked for him downtown he wasn’t there. Today, on my third attempt to complete the encounter, there he was. Meet Takahito from Japan – also known as Duckman.

What I had learned from Takahto’s website that impressed me so much was his triumph over adversity and his positive spirit which I felt was a message that belonged in the Human Family project for its power to inspire. His story involves growing up in a single parent family with a mentally ill mother. He lost his two siblings at an early age and the unexpected loss of his onlyh friend. He suffered both emotional and physical abuse from mother and was removed from the home to live in an institution. He discovered the power of a smile to make others happy and adopted a false smile because it brought positive responses from others, something which in turn brought him pleasure. You can read Takahito’s version of this story on his website at www.tk-entertainer.com if you scroll to the bottom of the page. I was left with two feelings after finding out about Takahito. First, I was shocked that anyone would grow up in such disadvantaged circumstances. Second, I was filled with admiration that he found his own way to overcome such extreme adversity and not only survive, but thrive – through entertaining and bringing pleasure to others.

Today was my lucky day because when I exited the subway station downtown, I could hear the sound of Takahito’s plastic drumset. I had my camera ready and caught him between acts. I greeted him by name, reminded him that we had semi-met a week ago, and that after reading his website I was greatly impressed by his story and by his personal strength and positive energy. He shook my hand with his yellow-gloved duck hand and said “Thank you for reading it.” I quickly explained my Human Family project and said I had not had time to tell him about it last week, but would he participate? He said he would be glad to. I managed a couple of different poses, chosen by Takahito, and asked him where he got the strength to overcome his difficult childhood. He said “Making other people happy made me happy.” I asked what message or piece of advice he would like to share and he said “Have a bigger cup.” When I asked what he meant he said “It’s hard for me to explain.” I was concerned that our conversation was distracting him from performing for the lunch-hour crowd which is probably when he makes the most income. I did learn that he is in Canada on a 6 month visa so perhaps I will meet this remarkable young man again. I think we all have much to learn from his inspiring story. We exchanged contact information and he was delighted when I made my contribution to his fund and thanked me warmly.

This is my 549th submission to The Human Family Group on Flickr.

Follow-up:

Takahito was kind enough to write me an email explaining the meaning of his message “Get a bigger cup. It was so nice that I quote it in full.

"'Get a bigger cup'

I think everyone has a cup in their hearts. that can hold stress or sadness.

When I was a kid, the cup was really small. I cried a lot. I was stressed a lot.

then When I got over my past, I've got the biggest cup.

when the cup is full which means that you cannot do anything properly.

All I'm trying to do is absorbing the spilling water from people's cups^^

because my cup is the biggest. And if you can see the way of thinking that you have a cup, It would help people to be optimistic like me."

I met Milton near Yonge and King Street in Toronto. He was on a smoke break when I approached him to explain my human family project and he agreed to participate. He had some time to spare as he was waiting for other people to do some work inside the building he was working in so he could complete his part of the work.

Milton is 51 years old and is a communications technician. He was born in Sudbury, Ontario and moved to Toronto in 1988 to enroll in the Electronics Technician Program at DeVry Institute of Technology. He graduated in July 1990 and has been working in Toronto ever since. In his spare time Milton loves spending time with his grandson and granddaughter. He also enjoys watching war documentaries and is a history buff.

Questions I posed to Milton:

Q. What are you most grateful for?

A. Waking up in the morning. I enjoy life. I enjoy what I do and I get to travel all over Ontario through my work.

Q. What do you value most in a friendship?

A. Honesty. Everything else I can work around it but if you don't have honesty, how can you have friendship. And this goes for any type of friendship whether it is with a woman or between a couple of guys.

Q. Why do you keep a beard and your hair long?

A. In 1984 my 14 year old brother William (Willy) died of cancer. I was 17 years old at the time. He had been in remission but the cancer came back. He was losing his hair during treatment and asked me to grow my hair so it could be made into a wig for him. Sadly, he died soon after but on his deathbed, just before he passed away, I promised him that I would never cut my hair until I would see him again in heaven. I haven't cut my hair since and no one will make me cut it.

Milton also mentioned that they were six boys growing up and every summer his dad would cut all of the boys' hair really short.

I had a train to catch so had to end our meeting. Being interested in history myself I would have loved to continue our conversation. Before I left Milton I did pass on a link to a great podcast on World War I that I had been listening to lately and he seemed eager to check it out.

This, Mr RSPB, is why the placing of your tent thing is so bloody annoying.

Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandugo

The Sandugo was a blood compact, performed in the island of Bohol in the Philippines, between the Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna the chieftain of Bohol on March 16, 1565, to seal their friendship as part of the tribal tradition. This is considered as the first treaty of friendship between the Spaniards and Filipinos. "Sandugo" is a Visayan word which means "one blood".

The Sandugo is depicted in both the provincial flag and the official seal of the government in Bohol. It also features the image of the blood compact. The top of the seal explains the history behind the Sandugo event that occurred in Bohol, the fleet and the location where the Spaniards anchored and the place where the treaty was conducted which was dated on March 16, 1565

A tiny photo which struck my fancy while watching the History Channel.

OK, here is the only deal I can think of. I normally have five shades of hair, mostly brunette, with some blonde, some auburn, some silver and some white. I have never died my hair since way back in the last millennium; so they are all natural. Most of my selfies reflect those 5 shades pretty well, some of them even within the last two weeks or month. So, I was trying to figure out why so much silver and white so suddenly. I never saw such a thing. I think what happened is most of the silver or white is toward the front, and I usually take a selfie indoors. This one, I don't remember why, but I know I was outdoors. I think the lighter colors toward my front, are thinner and perhaps lighter weight than the rest, and an outdoor breeze blew them more easily than the rest. Up until this day, I have yet to have my hair color look this way.

Whatch'all think?

For Dave C., I think the *soul* is trying to explain my weird hair phenomenon. It looks as if I aged a decade in two weeks. Oh, and part and parcel of any good soul, is being able to laugh at oneself.

;o)

So before explaining the photo - a couple of cool things from recent times on my website.

The results of the International Photography Awards are out and I picked up three honourable mentions - more here

And I was recently invited to take part in the European Photography Google Plus Hangout which you can watch here - it's about black and white photography. (BTW it was my first G+ hangout, was only a bit nervous!).

So, I've not had much chance to get out recently but with the dark nights drawing in and the weather getting changeable I was keen to get out. Rather than head to the beach as I normally do I thought I'd head inland - something I'm keen to do a bit more of.

walking on a dream

How can I explain

Talking to myself

Will I see again

We are always running for the thrill of it thrill of it

Always pushing up the hill searching for the thrill of it

On and on and on we are calling out and out again

Never looking down I’m just in awe of what’s in front of me

Is it real now

When two people become one

I can feel it

When two people become one

Thought I’d never see

The love you found in me

Now it’s changing all the time

Living in a rhythm where the minutes working overtime

Catch me I’m falling down

Catch me I’m falling down

Don’t stop just keep going on

I’m your shoulder lean upon

So come on deliver from inside

All we got is tonight that is right till first light

Yes, still a sickly child. Haven't slept for a couple of nights now, which might explain why different synapses are firing in my ideas for shots. Actually do synapses fire? Or have I mixed them up with some other apses? I feel like I'm starting to enter a new man cold sphere of existence. Reality is flopping around like blackcurrant jelly.

Other than that I'm fine :-)

Oni is what my style of mecha are called here is a quick short backstory.

1185 A.D. gave raise to the first age of the Samurai. Samurai were mighty warriors that worked for powerful families in the ancient lands, the samurai were both loyal and disciplined there was no warrior more powerful. Like a wave the samurai grew in numbers and power taking over control of all of the ancient lands, until they came, the Oni. All around the world there are myths and legends of mighty monsters able to single handedly defeat armies of men. The home of the samurai received the main force of these monsters and with only a stroke of luck the samurai were able to defeat and trap most of the demons. The years passed and many forgot the truth, many stories meant to save the truth were dismissed as folk lore and legend, and so the world moved on without a care.

The year is now 1304 N.A. (new age) in this era the world, Exia, is filled with many races from other worlds and unimaginable technologies and magic. Sadly warfare is still a common plague the human race, factions owned by the five kingdoms of the world fight to gain power. Many of these factions do not fight with men but with incredibly powerful machines called Mecha; war machines that come in many different shapes, sizes, and origin; each having its own unique abilities. The most powerful mecha are of humanoid form and piloted by highly skilled individuals...

One of the kingdoms on a quest to protect their home unlocked the secrets of the ancient lands. Chaos and death in the form of demons soon followed the discovery. The three most powerful kingdoms banded together to drive back the demons known as Oni. Amid the chaos a small nation known as Zephyria was able to capture injured Oni. With the use of magic and technology the kingdom was able to bend the will of the Oni to their own.

Only pilots with immense mental skill and will power have a chance to sync their mind with the Oni, if the Oni takes over it steals the mind of the pilot and go's on a rampage as a demon killing the pilot in the process and if the pilot takes over all the Oni's power yields to the pilot and the pilot's personality and skills shine through. Pilots must have a compatible style to be accepted by the Oni. Once a pilot syncs (80%+) a Oni no other pilot can enter the Oni...

so time to explain lmao

y'all know that doll with the bad hair and the cracked ass blue eyeliner and scratched up eyes that was okay for like the start of 2014 then people got annoyed at?!?!?!?

im still using ha lollll

But more importantly, what this is:

I'm a music producer. I will use some instrumentals from the internet when I really cba, but 99% of the time I spend hours creating instrumentals and music with a variety of different music software. I have made over 150 songs so far for "DJ Dani Creamz (an artist in which I created when I was trying to hard and wanted to be cool lol)" but they're all on my laptop which the hard drive has failed on so pray for me y'all

but one album that I had saved onto a memory stick before my laptop crashed was "Mλgicλl". A bunch of music I created with a "fairy tale" kinda vibe. For those who had no idea about this, this is actually Dani's 9th album. You can find links to all her others on her website, which will be below lol.

But I just wanted to say that since my music is like 99% my own, I am able to get it distributed to several online music stores, including Amazon, iTunes and Spotify! This album, Mλgicλl, is available on August 14th on those 3 platforms, in the USA, UK and New Zealand. The iTunes Pre-Order link is below but it has yet to appear on Amazon or Spotify. The price is the lowest possible (for more than a single) because I know this isn't going to do anything. I'm not trying to make a profit from this, I'm doing it because I like it. I wanted to actually put it up for free but that's not an option, so I selected cheapest. If I can get the rest of the music off of my old hard drive, I will, but as of now, I have 1 other instrumental EP out for Distribution on the first friday of september, available worldwide on even more stores including Apple Music. I hope you guys like the music, and maybe support me? Thank you & i'll post any updates here from now on! Links:

Oh hi. This is grainy as the f-bomb. Let me explain:

So. I ran out of hard drive space and haven't edited photos for over a month. I never realized how in love I am in RAW. This is effing JPG and you can tell because of how grainy and unsharp everything is.

Anyway. I figure I should upload something... Even though I am running Windows 7 for kicks and don't have any of my RAW software installed... (I should get on that and check out the hyperthreading on this Core i7 biznatch.) Kevin renewed my Flickr account for Christmas and I've been a lazy girl to get things together.

Happy Inauguration Party. Happy birthday to me. Happy pager duty on the eve of my birthday. Happy belated new year - welcome to the year 2009!... And of course, congratulations on finding out the true identity of Big Foot. (I forgot that the wide angle does that...)

See you all soon. I have hard drive space now!
