Robert Arbor came to Olivia's apartment to cook us an Asian-influenced meal of pork chops in some kind of ginger-flavored marinade with bok choy cooked in garlicky soy sauce. Why'd he do that? Cos he's awesome.

Dr. Simeone explained that from 1915 to 1920 the concept of a sports car was submerged by the rigors of a great world war. Coming out of this tragedy a few car companies early on made a true sports car where speed and sport supervene over practicality. A British, an Italian, and an American example of this early reversion to performance were demonstrated. Featured were the 1921 Vauxhall 30/98E Velox Tourer, 1924 Lancia Lambda Third Series Tourer, and the 1922 Paige 6-66 Daytona Speedster.

The Everglades are tilting slightly, about an inch per mile, which makes it not really a swamp, but a river. The tilt keeps out the ocean, making the 'glades fresh.

The project “Disaster Resilient Communities: A Watershed - Based Approach To Integrated Disaster Risk Management”, co-financed by ECHO (DIPECHO VIII) (May 2014 – September 2015) is a joint initiative of the German NGO Welthungerhilfe and Mercy Corps (MCS-UK). It aims for a reduction of the human and economic toll caused by natural disasters through resilient communities, a prepared government and partnerships with the private sector.
The action takes place in the Rasht valley, a mountainous region in Central Tajikistan. In a country generally rife with natural hazards, the area stands out for its high disaster incidence. This new initiative expands its scope to the watershed level, allowing to tackle collective hazards in a more structured manner than with a single village approach. With and through local partners from civil society and government, the project intervenes at the micro-, meso and macro levels.
Apart from traditional risk management measures, innovative approaches such as Child to Child DRR training, GSM based early warning, partnerships with the private sector and biostructural engineering will come to bear.

On April 30, 2011, I proposed to Jordana in Tompkins Square Park dog run, where we had met on September 21, 2009. Thankfully, she said yes.
I had asked her friend Jess to arrange a doggy playdate at 9:30am. Jord had no idea that a larger plan was afoot. That morning, our friends Dan and Sarah were stationed just outside of the dog run with their camera. I woke up, told Jordana that I'd take the dogs out and that she should just meet us all at the park. The rest unfolded about as perfectly as I could have hoped (other than my shaky hands making it difficult to pick up dog poop).
Very special thanks to Jess for being a fantastic accomplice, Dan for the moral support and especially to Sarah for taking all of the amazing photographs (and tying the ring box to Cody's collar when my aforementioned shaky hands made it impossible for me to display any semblance of fine motor skills).
And, of course, Cody and Heath were the true stars of the day...as always.
Well, it was quite the keynote, wasn't it? And I don't disagree that the iPhone is going to be revolutionary to an industry that has been just getting by with some mediocre products.
