Well, I already know what's on the other side; it's a nice view of the Long Island Sound :)
Buzz Filter and Topaz Psychadelic effect added.
Enjoy the weekend!
I used Altenew's Raise the Steaks stamp set for this card set. The papers are from Crate Paper's Open Road collection. For details, please see my blog at: redballooncards.blogspot.com/2015/09/marinade-for-each-ot...
“You won’t be disappointed if you don’t have expectations”. I’m sure a lot of us have heard or read this somewhere. I have a perfect story to resonate with this.
I was to travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil on work a few months ago and my excitement knew no bounds. I was traveling alone, and after a lot of thought(and safety concerns), I decided to go to Rio for the weekend. My brazilian friend gave me a list of things to see and do, and also mentioned it would be springtime, so the weather would be beautiful (his exact words - not too hot, so it will be perfect). Bags packed for sun, sand and glory, I was all set for a perfect weekend by the copacabana beach.
When I landed in Rio, I was greeted by some crazy cumulonimbus clouds, in simpler terms - storm clouds. I saw a ray of hope when the forecast said mild clouds the next day and set off on a day tour to see the famous Christ the Redeemer statue and experience the breathtaking views from atop the Corcovado mountain. This is what I saw when I got there, a faint figure of the Jesus statue almost hidden by the clouds and 0 visibility (so 0 views). The rain literally washed away all my expectations of that perfect sunny weekend in Rio :(
The house where the jilted woman lived as a recluse in Newport, Shropshire, and gave the inspiration for Miss Havisham in Great Expectations.
I took this photograph by zooming into roof of a barn while standing on an adjacent hill. The narrow field of view caused by my zoom allowed me to limit what was included in the photo, so that the majority of the photo consisted of the repeating beams. The beams in the photograph were a different color from the roof, so I desaturated the photo to balance the tones. I also added a subtle vignette so that the viewers eye would focus on the repeating pattern across the center of the image. This photo satisfies Requirement Four because of the repeating patterns caused by the roof tiles and the beams.
This is one of the vintage touches I gave my images. The original color images also have a "retro" look to them.
