I haven't been to my hometown in a very long time.

You tend to hype up what home was in relation to what it really is.

Enjoy the fact that you are going home but lower your expectations... it's not as grandiose as your mind has made it into.

When you go back, enjoy what it is, don't lament on what it was.

Location

BKLYN (my hometown btw)

Cloudy spring day with Mimosa tree on the beach east of Larnaca, Cyprus. Out there, beyond the sea, is Africa; behind are the beach villas of the well-to-do. A penny for the thoughts of the Mimosa. 7Artisans manual lens at F8 probably; polariser used; edited in Luminar and macOS Mojave.

Yesterday, we had some snow less than what the forecast predicted—at least in our area. Went outdoors early in the morning to take/make some shots. It was 10 below freezing and my mittens were ineffective. I still feel the tingling at the tip of the button-pressing finger. Stay warm!

"Take me to the station

And put me on a train

I've got no expectations

To pass through here again..."

(Jagger-Richards)

All the activities of the county life stop for the long cold winter. Just the rays of still cold but a bit brighter sunlight let us feel the spring is near.

Velikoretskoye village in the north of my region, a good place of local farmers and the photographers from the city.

Thank you for all the comments and faves, my friends.

Great expectations is an Elbow track, and every time i go down to the coast I've got such great expectations. Sometimes they're based on a great sky, sometimes more in hope. This was a more in hope day that just gave a few fantastic minutes. The beauty is never knowing how long these magical moments will last.

Still mostly home-bound but luckier than many. I'm thinking the arrival of warm weather is going to make this worse.

Anyway, stopped for a quick pic while out to get our daily bread (in pizza form). I hope everyone is having a terrific week.

We just spent a week camping in the woods with no expectations. It was simply "go with the flow" depending how we felt when we woke up in the morning. On one of our hikes I saw this perfect Water Lily floating along peacefully in the marsh and it was a bit how I felt. It was a serene time for reading a book in my hammock swaying slightly between two trees as the leaves rustled above me.
