Expectations vs Reality..
Expectation: milkyway , note. not epic, not full core, just a milkway
Reality: Hey look i can see a star or two 😉
Expectation: Awesome mad lighthouse
Reality: flakey paint job , poorly maintained barber pole impersonating as a ship deterrent device...with a light, seriously, do they still need lights ?
I found some old lighting painting crap from many years ago, partially destroyed from an exploded battery pack, mental note, don't leave batteries in devices too long
But it did have a partially functioning bit of EL wire and a red bike torch stolen from Sarah we made something outta of nothing.
207 ceramic eggs positioned all over central London. Let the Easter Egg Hunt... begin! :)
Unfortunately these geese didn't know where any of the ceramic eggs were.
Looking up at a gentleman just out of shot, obviously used to being fed and showing no fear whatsoever. Not sure whether that's a good thing.

One English Electric design that didn't exactly cover itself in glory unfortunately. BR entered into a lease agreement which was most fortunate given their not really living up to expectation. It was a bit unusual given the EE pedigree with diesels. For the passengers at stations their intense sound sparked the nickname "Hoovers". Among some enthusiasts they were called "dub dubs" on account of the noise when under power. It could have been worse and indeed it turned out to be the case.
Failures were a constant theme although that may have come about by being on expresses single headed trying to keep time from all the delays with engineering work to Scotland for electrification. They were booked for two and probably got hammered when not in pairs.
They gravitated to WR as the Westerns declined in number and the 50's became available from LMR.
To say that they were not a hit there is probably fair to the operating department although enthusiasts did take to them. 50003 was nicknamed Constable Plod - apparently a poor performer worse than any other.
Then there was the 50/50 insult - the chances of getting somewhere without a breakdown. It couldn't have been that bad or they would have been withdrawn faster than the Westerns as a minority type. That said, it didn't go down well when the up Golden Hind expired and made an MP from Taunton late for work. It was 50050 I believe. The first Falmouth Paddington was 50 hauled and the service terminated at Taunton. Some coincidence and that was 50050 as well.
Maybe the ER knew something when they turned down the offer of them from the LMR!
They were given a general overhaul and modifications made which improved matters. In fairness, BR didn't really have much luck with their change from steam to diesel and that seemed to extend to the 50's.
The taxpayer got a raw deal while the enthusiasts had a field day with all the diverse designs.
However, here at Clifton Junction there is still the chance to explore in the undergrowth where the junction was that went away to Radcliffe and beyond from here. Some of the route is a cycleway. The structure know as 13 arches is still standing but fenced off.
There was no expectation to see and moving trains, but upon my arrival into Trout Lake, the local was starting to make a move out of town starting with this move turning the motor around by taking the swtich from the Manistique to Newberry Subdivision - the former Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic.
