"Here lyes in hope and expectation of the joyfull and disyred day of resurrection when the Saviour of the world shall appeare in power and judgment, to awake all those who have slept in Him, to be partakers of the everlasting happiness of the eternall kingdome, Sir Henry Sydney, knight, discended from the stemme of Viscount Lisle, Baron of Penshurst in Kent. Lorde Chamberleyn to the Queenes majestie and governoure of Flushing
His youth was seasoned with the feare of God, duty towards his parents and love to learning, his following aged yielded fruites of hospitality towards all the men of charitie, towards the poore, of faithfulness towards his friendes, and of peaceablenes amongst his neighbours. He and his end was concluded with piety, with patience and with a comfortable farewell at the tearme of 59 yeares, the 2d of November Anno Domini 1612
Here (joynd as well in ye safe hope of a joyfull resurrection as in all piety and conjugall love to the sayd Sir Henry Sidney) rests the body of Dame Jane his wife, daughter of Francis Jermy of Brightwell in Suffolk, esq, who after her peregrination of 73 yeares injoying 28 thereof in the happy society of her sayd husband and continuing his name and memory for 28 more (in a most chast and retired widowhood) upon the 9th of August 1638 departed this life . No lady lived more christiany nor dyed more happily, many daughters have done virtuously but thou excellest them all (proverbs 31.29)"
Henry was the son of Thomas Sydney 1585 & Barbara 1585 daughter of William Walsingham 1534 & Joyce Denny 1496 widow of John Carey & sister of Sir Francis Walsingham
He was the grandson of Agnes & Thomas Sydney 1544 who was employed by the townsmen to buy the priory lands for the town, but on paying £90 to the Crown, kept it for himself.
As the inscription says Henry was Lorde Chamberlain to Queen Elizabeth & Governor of Flushing.
He succeeded his brother Thomas husband of Mary Southwell who died without issue.
He m 1581 Jane (aged 16) daughter of Francis Jermy of Brightwell & Margaret heiress of Thomas Tey of Brightwell & Stutton
Having no children, Henry left all his properties to Jane, and on her death they passed to Robert Sidney, Earl of Leicester and thence to other families.

Now lying under the west window, their monument once lay in the Sidney chapel here, but was damaged by the fire of 1961 www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/t0K5f6 which also destroyed the jacobean font cover given by Jane www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/o9LW8J She also gave 4 acres of land to support the church minister "for ever"! - Church of St Mary & All Saints, Little Walsingham Norfolk

We're in the middle of a pretty severe drought here in Baton Rouge, so I posted these from over a month ago to lift my spirits!...........................................'Expectation' On Black

Wednesday 17th June. There was widespread expectation First Minister Nicola Sturgeon would announce a move to phase two of lockdown on Thursday 18th June and give indicative dates for further easing of lockdown.
In phase two the virus is controlled but remains; R is consistently below 1 and WHO conditions are met. Physical distancing would still be required.
Phase two includes: People meeting in larger groups; workers being allowed to return to construction sites; opening playgrounds; small shops selling non-essential goods reopening (but not shopping malls); outdoor beer gardens but not indoor areas of pubs.
"Ms Sturgeon has previously stressed that not all of the changes will happen overnight, and it might not be until "the coming weeks" that some are in place."

A return.
This wall painting was last engaged with in 2015. Since that time the local council has contributed to the composition via layers of their own exterior acrylic paint. Their decisions have been informed by the 2015 work as well as the desire to omit the names of general members of the public who have contributed by adding their names with various colours of aerosol paint. With one action following the other, the layers continue to build, like the clouds moving across the sky. The particular details that comprise the current work are parts, rendered in an aesthetic attempt to acknowledge the sites surroundings.
A little later and half in the expectation that the DMU due may well be the canary yellow liveried 'TdeF' unit 158849, seen plying the route between Leeds and Nottingham in the past, taken in August 2014 after the very successful Tour-de-France event in July of that year. Today however, nothing of the kind its just a plain old Norther Rail liveried 158, 158844 on the 1Y41 Leeds to Nottingham service. All indications are that Northern have lost the franchise to Arriva Trains and they plan on new units with their own, very different livery; so some change is 'blowing in the wind'. More colourful traction plies the very busy M1 in the background and the cutters torch, having been extinguished for a short time, is in full burn again on the side panels of the Gasometer tank. After removal of this pair of holders, there will only be the single gas holder left at the Effingham St. Gas Works at Attercliffe near the South Yorks Navigation (Tinsley Canal) and the site of the old Sheffield Victoria station. On the left, directly over-looking both the gas works and railway scene, is 'Revitalise', if you want to get 'Revitalised' with 'Vibration Training' then 'you know where to come', the small business on the stone bridge opposite the Gasometer is the place to be for some 'treatment sessions'... bet it was nice in there on a warm day when the Gasometer was full and in use! More information on the fate of the UKs Gasometers can be found here-
There are places where the reasonable expectation of personal space which your average American accepts, shrinks drastically.
Elevators are obvious places. But, what about wide open spaces?
How close can one approach a photographic subject, while they remain unaware and are simply carrying through with their habits?
We have expectations of privacy that are varied and staggered, but one thing that's absolute is that there are more photographic devices in the world than ever before.
Instead of studying a character from afar, for example with a telephoto lens, as if they are wildlife, what intimacy can you capture at a range normally not accepted, or even expected?
I am in your space.

after much excitement and expectation. Baby Gabriel is welcomed into the world!
YAY! this is the precious little boy that I had the honor to photograph his parent's engagement and maternity sessions. I cant wait for the wedding!
The expectation of a Thunderstorm drew me into the Sierra with hedging my bet by camping at Tioga Pass (10,000 feet) where I had options in the morning, west into Yosemite or east into the Mono Basin.
Where would the weather be, yep Mono Basin. I arrived in the dark following Gaia GPS with no idea what morning would bring, my perch at day break commanded a 360 view of color.

St. Aloysius Gonzaga rejected his family's expectation that he would join the military life; instead he decided on the religious life. He made a vow of chastity at the age of 9, and, to safeguard himself from possible temptation, he would keep his eyes persistently downcast in the presence of women.
He got a bit overzealous with self-discipline and self-denial, at one point beating himself with a leather dog leash, but when he joined the Jesuits, his spiritual director, St. Robert Bellarmine straightened him out, giving Aloysius regular hours of prayer and simple acts of self-control.
When the plague struck Rome in January 1591, the Jesuits were sent to work in the hospitals, which was tough for Aloysius since he was naturally squeamish. He overcame this, however, and went into the streets of Rome and carried the ill and the dying to the hospital on his back. Within a few weeks, he got the plague himself and died at the age of 23.
He is usually depicted looking at a crucifix or holding lilies, and sometimes with skull, whip, or crown.

recipesandworkouts: Great page! Keep up the good work :)
Advanced stages of COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) kept my conversation with Daniel fairly short on a sunny Friday afternoon. What I did learn about is that while the COPD effects his everyday life, Daniel still has a fairly good outlook on life. Getting out to enjoy the days while he still can, he manages to live life even when he has been told that he has less then a year to live. Hard words to swallow in my opinion, but when you've lived without a full-time place to live over the last 25 years; each day is a blessing.
Over the course of the last six years Daniel has had help from a variety of outlets to assist him in the search for housing. Presently he is labeled as an "Expectation of Death," which basically means that with his condition worsening by the day (and death could come at any time) he is put at the top of the list for openings. This way he has a place to spend the remainder of his time on Earth. While he doesn't expect it to happen anytime soon, Daniel did share a wonderful adaption on a quote he lives by everyday "Impossible is nothing, miracles take time" Great words to live by if I do say so myself, he told me he's heard it many times over the years and knows that he can't give up all hope.
With a slightly witty sense of joy, he humored me with a few tidbits about COPD and his age. While the disease effects one's lungs between coughs, he explained that he still smokes because it still brings him peace. At his age there isn't really much to enjoy in the world, and with such a debilitation of his style of life so be it! He also told me that he would like me to make sure that before posting in the 100 Strangers group and my 100 more strangers project that I use my Photoshop skills and give him a better physique. My greatest apologies Daniel, as I am not a master Photoshopper but a visual artist portraying the truth in people. Before we parted ways, I told him that I would keep him in my thoughts. He warned me he isn't the greatest with names or faces, so we may cross paths again and he will not recognize me.
It's all good in the long run, as Daniel is a stranger to many but I hope with sharing this photo with everyone that he will be less of one to you if you pass him by!

This meal was shared with thewanderingeater. Just for the sake of experiment and to protect the purity of this meal I decided to concentrate on macro and close-up images, with an expectation of both sets being viewed together.
Pasta: AGNOLOTTI
- veal ravioli, sweetbreads, funghi
Absolutely amazing! Sweetbreads were nice and plump, mushrooms perfectly cooked, but what really impressed me was the pasta dough and pasta stuffing - it's one of those things you just have to try. I asked Chef Michael White, who was kind enough to stop by our table, like a thousand questions - clearly, their pasta-making is raised to a different level. Everything involved - pasta flour, dough thickness, resting time, human skill and efforts create a great result. This pasta is thickened with a touch of pasta water - I was almost thinking it was roux: it was creamy and luscious.
Is there another world for this frail dust
To warm with life and be itself again?
Something about me daily speaks there must,
And why should instinct nourish hopes in vain?
'Tis nature's prophesy that such will be,
And everything seems struggling to explain
The close sealed volume of its mystery.
Time wandering onward keeps its usual pace
As seeming anxious of eternity,
To meet that calm and find a resting place.
E'en the small violet feels a future power
And waits each year renewing blooms to bring,
And surely man is no inferior flower
To die unworthy of a second spring?

After hours and hours of cold, this day was great with a wonderful sundown. The proof lies on the birds.
2 trains are awaited at Weybourne station, NNR. Fujiflim X10.
The only way to shoot the X10 is:
image size M
Set DR to 400% (very important because it switches the sensor to EXR DR mode)
Raw + JPEG
Discard the JPEG when you import it to Lr4
Process the Raw file
Nothing else works...you will get files from the X10 you can't get from any other compact.
