when quality mattered...every dial, every gauge, every switch, every flange, every bracket, every screw, without exception, it all mattered, nothing less than perfection!
Claude M. Cox's original Overland car was developed in the early 1900s by the Standard Wheel Company of Terre Haut, Indiana. The Overland Company was formed in 1903 by Mr. Cox and Charles Minshall but it didn't take off until John North Willys arrived in 1907. Mr. Willys was a New York auto dealer and a major Overland customer. He ordered 500 Overlands and paid a deposit of $10,000. After his product was not delivered, he traveled to Indiana only to find Overland on the point of closure. Wanting to recoup his investment, Willys secured additional credit and reorganized the company. By mid-1908 they were in a position to build a new factory. Production increased and by 1909 the company had moved to Toledo, Ohio. Willys eventually became president of the company.
From 1910 to 1914, the company produced only four-cylinder models and they were all right-hand drive. (The company began using left-hand drive in 1915). In 1914, Overland was the second-largest producer of cars in the US, behind only Ford. While the Model T appealed to the masses, the Overland was an upmarket model selling for approximately twice the cost of a T. The Overland was more spacious, more powerful, and larger than the FOrd and its four-cylinder engine had separately cast cylinder jugs. An electric starter was available as a $125 option in 1914.
Overland built a quality automobile that was advanced for its time. The early models had a removable ignition plug that prevents auto theft.
During the 1920s, Willys-Overland produced the Willys Knight, which was powered by the sleeve valve engine designed by Indiana native Charles Knight. During World War II, Willys produced the Jeep. Several modern Jeep models pay homage to their Overland roots with the name of their top models wearing the 'Overland' nameplate.

I have a difficult job getting a shot of this species, as they rarely sit still in an open spot like this. I took advantage of the exception to the rule.
Berlin, Germany, 2019.
So far, abstract photos have (with the notable exception of my Wax series) been a by-product of my photography, something that happened while I was shooting architecture or landscapes.
However, I have been encouraged by several photography friends (here on FlickR, most notably by Walerija Weiser) to focus more on my abstract photography and not let its lesser popularity on social media keep me from producing and sharing it in public. So, one of my resolutions for 2020 is to follow this advice and not only post more abstract work but also to go out and intentionally shoot it on purpose. To set the mood for this new goal and the work that will hopefully come of it, I'd like to share a couple of abstract architectural shots, which quite nicely fit into my Deliberately Confusing series.
As always, there's more on www.chm-photography.com.
Enjoy!
Latte. Esspresso. Flat white. Piccolo. Americano. Cappucino. You name it. The day cannot begin without it. We all have our rituals and the day does not feel right if we don't observe these rituals. Small ones or big ones. With or without sugar. With or without coffee art. Now the day can begin. But don't rush. Stay one more minute and just look around you. Sip that last sip of coffee, scoop up the foam at the bottom of the cup (I always do it, no exceptions - this is my favourite part!) and take a deep breath. Now the day is complete.
Autumn is a beautiful time of year with nature showing off all its spectacular colours, and the sky in this pre-dawn hour just before the sun rises over the horizon is no exception.
Wayte Islet - Whytecliff Park in Horseshoe Bay , close to ferry terminal.
Islet ( actually I did spell right – more like exception to the rule ) is defined as a small island , a rock formation often tidal . I went to Whytecliff few times and always had problem getting the light right , maybe one day. It's in Vancouver but still 60km drive from my place.

*****
Diurnal butterfly of the Nymphalidae family which owes its vernacular name to its black and white colors. Wingspan: 50/60 mm. There is no sexual dimorphism except that the male is smaller. The wings, similar on both sides, evoke a checkerboard of black spots on a white background. On the underside of the hindwings we can distinguish some brown ocelli. The half-mourning has the particularity of presenting only two pairs of clearly visible legs, the third being atrophied and folded up against the thorax, entirely covered with hair.
Flight period: from mid-May to September in a single generation.
BN train #15 with a pair of standard SD40-2's---->>>BN7090 and BN8058. The BN ran SD40-2's on EVERYTHING and were the GEVO of today, with one exception, dash 2's in run 8 always sounded great. The whine always echoed off the bluffs especially in crisp and calm winter days.
Moment unique et rencontre d'exception! Ce fut un matin attendu depuis des années et ils étaient présent. Ils sont venu de nul part et en quelques secondes, ils venaient faire notre connaissance. Coastal Wolf
Unique moment and exceptional encounter! It was an expected morning for years and they were present. They came from nowhere and in a few seconds they came to meet us. The wolf is an unpredictable mammal and very difficult to approach. This morning it was they who came to us for our great pleasure.
Sea lions are pinnipeds characterized by external ear flaps, long foreflippers, the ability to walk on all fours, short and thick hair, and a big chest and belly. Together with the fur seals, they make up the family Otariidae, eared seals. The sea lions have six extant and one extinct species (the Japanese sea lion) in five genera. Their range extends from the subarctic to tropical waters of the global ocean in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, with the notable exception of the northern Atlantic Ocean.
Sea lions have an average lifespan of 20–30 years. A male California sea lion weighs on average about 300 kg (660 lb) and is about 2.4 m (8 ft) long, while the female sea lion weighs 100 kg (220 lb) and is 1.8 m (6 ft) long. The largest sea lions are Steller's sea lions, which can weigh 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) and grow to a length of 3.0 m (10 ft). Sea lions consume large quantities of food at a time and are known to eat about 5–8% of their body weight (about 6.8–15.9 kg (15–35 lb)) at a single feeding. Sea lions can move around 16 knots (30 km/h; 18 mph) in water and at their fastest they can reach a speed of about 30 knots (56 km/h; 35 mph). Three species, the Australian sea lion, the Galápagos sea lion and the New Zealand sea lion, are listed as endangered

Ribchester
Many of the bridges we see today have replaced earlier bridges, the Grade II listed Ribchester Bridge is no exception. Its predecessor which was built in 1669, was situated about 80m upstream, on the site of an ancient Roman ford, that bridge washed away in 1772.
It is not known who designed it but the agreement was drawn up in January 1775 for the construction of the bridge.
It is made of stone and has three segmental circular arches. It carries the B6245 road across the River Ribble connecting Clayton-le-Dale on the left to Ribchester on the right.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
This is an Eastern Towhee. which is like an overgrown sparrow, except it is a ground feeder, and normally prefers it's natural habitat of heavy undergrowth in which to shelter...
He visits us often, hopping around looking for insects. However, this day he flew on top of a feeder to scope things out, including me 😊
An early morning fog made for slow going to catch the sunrise at this location on Georgian Bay. Some light broke through periodically but only for a few minutes and for the most part without color - with one brief exception - when the clouds hinted at what lay beyond the mist.

An active lighthouse is positioned at the point. Built in 1830 by engineer Robert Stevenson, the white-painted round tower is 26 metres (85 ft) high. The light is 99 metres (325 ft) above sea level and has a range of 28 nautical miles (52 km). The lighthouse and lighthouse keepers' houses are designated as a Category A listed building.
During World War II, on 8 June 1944 at 7.30 pm, a French member of the British Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA), Cladius Echallier, died by striking the Lighthouse in a Beaufighter, while making a low landfall from the Irish Sea.
The lighthouse is now automatic, and an old outhouse has been converted into a visitor centre, run by the South Rhins Community Development Trust, a group of local people and businesses. In 2013 there was a community buyout and the Mull of Galloway Trust purchased land and buildings, with the exception of the tower, from Northern Lighthouse Board.
In 2004 a new café was built at the Mull of Galloway, called the "Gallie Craig". Its design incorporates into the landscape with a turf roof, giving views across to Northern Ireland and southwards to the Isle of Man.
Some of the buildings have now been turned into holiday accommodation.

Maybe I know somewhere deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we've got to find other ways to make it alone
Or keep a straight face
And I've always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable distance
And up until now I had sworn to myself
That I'm content with loneliness
Because none of it was ever worth the risk
But you are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

I have to confess, I don't really care for country music. But John Denver is an exception. For his wonderful lyrics and the melodies he wrote which haunts your thoughts for a while even after the song is over. As a mountain gal myself, this song is so relatable. There is something majestic about the mountain, it makes you feel small and put everything in perspective when you look up at them. But they also make your heart sing with joy and give you a high. Mother Nature's bones have been here long before us and continue to be there long after humans ceased to exist. Slowly moving, unnoticeable by human senses and home to so many amazing creatures. The Rockies, the Andes, the Alps, Himalaya, Carpat mountains and all the others..
Rocky Mountain high - John Denver
He was born in the summer of his 27th year
Coming home to a place he'd never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door
When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
On the road and hanging by a song
But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care
It keeps changing fast and it don't last for long
But the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye
Rocky mountain high (Colorado)
He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below
He saw everything as far as you can see
And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun
And he lost a friend but kept his memory
Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake
And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it raining fire in the sky
You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply
Rocky mountain high
Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear
Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend
Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land
And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly
Rocky mountain high
It's Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
Rocky mountain high
Rocky mountain high

With the exception of last year (thanx to Covid!) every spring we are treated to the arrival of our fabulous Canadian Forces 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, the SNOWBIRDS are Canada's military aerobatics or air show flight demonstration team whose purpose is to demonstrate the skill, professionalism, and teamwork of Canadian Forces personnel . . . for two weeks they practice maneuvers before taking the "show on the road" . . . which means we are treated to these practice runs!! Spring is definitely in the air! 😍
I am constantly astounded by nature's beauty. The beauty is found everywhere, if we just take the time to look and truly see it. Tuesday evening's sunset was no exception, but it was exceptional. This was a view from our balcony.

On arrival at Peak Forest this afternoon, with the exception of 37716, it appeared that nothing was moving.
DB 66100 sits in the stabling sidings. 66133 was stabled on the fuel point. An unidentified Freightliner 66 was sat seemingly waiting to run down to Tunstead, but going no-where immediately.
60024, possibly with stone for Attercliffe was clearly snowed in or more likely this mornings 06:21 Peak Forest to Arpley which was cancelled at the last minute today. Having photographed 37716 starting up and nothing really running, I headed back to the Hope Valley. Most probably yesterday's 17:04 Guide Bridge to Tunstead which reported past Peak Forest S.B at 18:46, but nowhere since.
As yet at 21:30, nothing has moved past Great Rocks Junction, however a Heaton Norris Junction (Stockport) to Tunstead track machine is on its way just passing Chinley, perhaps a crane / snowplow or something else? The trains out of Tunstead/ Hindlow were all initially cancelled due to high winds, then adverse weather conditions and now just at the request of the train operator.
I normally refrain from uploading animals in enclosures, but here an exception (in a butterfly garden).

Have you ever heard the term, “Don’t look at life through the rearview mirror?” Well as usual there are exceptions - especially if you are driving.
Quite a few years ago, my daughter and I went for a drive. We ended up at one of the border crossings going into Montana from Canada. About 780 kms from home. When we drove through the border the road was so incredible to drive on. I felt such exhilaration as we drove the long and winding road through the desolate countryside but all the time keeping sight of the welcoming mountains just ahead.
I love open roads! This particular one did not have a single vehicle on it until about 20 minutes in. I glanced at my rearview mirror. HOLY SHIZA! There was a large pick-up truck almost on top of us! He was pulling a boat and as I made eye contact with him through the rearview mirror I could tell this guy was about ready to spontaneously combust. He looked so angry.
I couldn’t believe this was happening! I wasn’t doing anything wrong! One minute we were elated to be on our adventure and within minutes this stranger had stolen our joy.
I desperately wanted to get away from this incensed driver. I weighed my options. The roads were too narrow to just pull over and I would end up in the ditch. I couldn’t just stop and heck, there was NO way I was going to speed to get him off my tail. He couldn’t pass me either, because even though the road was very quiet, the odd vehicle still drove by going the other direction.
I pressed on, maintaining my speed and trying not to look at the facial gyrations and the sign language that this fella was performing for my benefit behind our backs through the rearview mirror.
Oh my! He was so mad!
After about twenty minutes with this raging bull hot on our heels, a turnoff came into sight. We were so relieved when he turned the opposite direction from where we were going. The drama came to an abrupt end and we were unbelievably thankful - still, I could not for the life of me figure out why he was so angry at me. We continued on and began once again to embrace the open road. Then all of a sudden, and with the same intensity of reality when a rock hits my windshield, I got an epiphany!
The speed limit was 70. I thought we were going quite fast and after all, it was a country highway. With embarrassed humility, I realized I was going 70km! I was in the United States now, and the speed limit posted was 70 mph!! That would make a difference of 43 mph!
OMG!
I looked through my rearview mirror. No one was behind us. I glanced one more time and looked at myself and compartmentalized the lesson I just had learned.
So with that realization behind us, I picked up the speed, cranked up the music and my daughter and I sang with complete liberation as we drove down the open road, to our next adventure…

EP07-344 with fast passenger train 51118 "Niemen" from Bydgoszcz Główna to Białystok, approaches Warszawa Zachodnia station. June 28, 2005.
Out of all locomotives of EU07 class modernized by Nowy Sącz overhauling workshop to EP07 yet when the heads were painted yellow, this very one was special as it didn't get the yellow narrow strips on the sides, between the darker and lighter shades of green. I don't know the reason of this exception.

I very seldom post anything that is personal. This is an exception. I am very proud of the strong woman my daughter has become. The past five months she has been stricken with a syndrome called MALS. This is a very debilitating condition in which the median arcuate ligament presses too tightly on the celiac artery. MALS occurs most frequently in females aged 40 to 60 with a duration of symptoms ranging from 3 months to 10 years. Common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and postprandial epigastric pain leading to an aversion of food and resulting in severe weight loss.
Along with her strength of fighting this condition, she finds enough heart to be a wonderful mother. My daughter has two incredible children. Her daughter is 11 years old with a lot of sas and a 9 year old autistic son. Even with the challenges of parenthood she is still able to apply her law degree as a para legal at the Utah State Attorney Generals office.
When I showed her this picture she told me how beautiful it is and how amazing the arch is. So with the sky having so much purple in it I chose to name it "Heather's Delight". Since purple is her favorite color.
I am not exception, when I say , that I never get tired of capturing the Beauty of this blessed place, over and over again!!! Especially during the enchanting Autumn, one feels so blessed strolling around in there...I am sure, that you all know what I mean...Because all of you, my dear friends, are TRUE Nature-lovers!!!!

Edinburgh Castle is a historic castle in Edinburgh, Scotland. It stands on Castle Rock, which has been occupied by humans since at least the Iron Age, although the nature of the early settlement is unclear. There has been a royal castle on the rock since at least the reign of David I in the 12th century, and the site continued to be a royal residence until 1633. From the 15th century, the castle's residential role declined, and by the 17th century it was principally used as military barracks with a large garrison. Its importance as a part of Scotland's national heritage was recognized increasingly from the early 19th century onwards, and various restoration programs have been carried out over the past century and a half.
As one of the most important strongholds in the Kingdom of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle was involved in many historical conflicts from the Wars of Scottish Independence in the 14th century to the Jacobite rising of 1745. Research undertaken in 2014 identified 26 sieges in its 1,100-year history, giving it a claim to having been "the most besieged place in Great Britain and one of the most attacked in the world". Few of the present buildings pre-date the Lang Siege of the 16th century when the medieval defenses were largely destroyed by artillery bombardment. The most notable exceptions are St Margaret's Chapel from the early 12th century, which is regarded as the oldest building in Edinburgh, the Royal Palace, and the early 16th-century Great Hall, although the interiors have been much altered from the mid-Victorian period onwards. The castle also houses the Scottish regalia, known as the Honours of Scotland, and is the site of the Scottish National War Memorial and the National War Museum of Scotland. The British Army is still responsible for some parts of the castle, although its presence is now largely ceremonial and administrative. Some of the castle buildings house regimental museums which contribute to its presentation as a tourist attraction.
The castle, in the care of Historic Environment Scotland, is Scotland's most and the United Kingdom's second most-visited paid tourist attraction, with over 2.2 million visitors in 2019 and over 70 percent of leisure visitors to Edinburgh visiting the castle. As the backdrop to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo during the annual Edinburgh Festival, the castle has become a recognizable symbol of Edinburgh in particular and of Scotland as a whole.

I don't usually post more than one photo a day, but today I'll make an exception...
Twenty-four years ago today, I was a senior at Troy High School in Troy, NY when terrorists highjacked four different planes -- two of which struck the Twin Towers in New York City, one which struck the Pentagon in Washington, and the other that was brought down by heroes and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. My aunt just happened to be working as an FBI agent out of NYC when the attacks happened, and -- not yet having a cell phone -- I remember using a payphone in the basement of Troy High to call home and see if there was any news about her. Thankfully, she was fine, but unfortunately for her she had to be heavily involved in the cleanup at Ground Zero afterwards.
The world changed after 9/11. Sadly, it wasn't really for the better -- other than for temporary solidarity amongst Americans. I, for one, remember what it was like to do railroad photography before 9/11, then just how many times I got questioned by police after that.
I don't always post about 9/11 when the anniversary comes up, but -- with all of the other terrible events we've seen recently -- it seemed appropriate to say something and share something.
9/11 -- along with more recent events -- are reminders that evil exists in the world. We can pretend it doesn't, we can imagine that there's a way to totally outlaw it through legislation, but you can't. There's only one solution to evil that I know of, and -- without getting too preachy -- I'll just share a quote from the one who's the solution:
"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33, NIV)
Regarding the train, this was a combined Pan Am / NS OCS that ran west over the West End on October 7, 2009. This was before the F-units arrived, and I believe NS had left their F-units in Mohawk Yard. When I took this photo, it wasn't long past the 8-year anniversary of 9/11. With the early Fall weather and just enough of a breeze to show off Old Glory, there's no doubt that day crossed my mind when I took this photo...

This is an exception, because the previous photos from the set showed different types of the locomotives each. And here the SU45 is repeated, so let the exception be doubled and it is analog photography. Well, actually triple - because doubledecker has the livery called "scrambled eggs", unlike the previous pictures.

❤️ FEARLESS ❤️
Here's my little friend I was telling you about in the last photo. He exhibits no fear of me whatsoever.
Now there is NOTHING ELSE FOR THE CAMERA TO FOCUS ON, with the exception of of a little rock and some dirt. But wouldn't you know it, this wonderful Z3 III will focus on nothing but dirt? This went on for nearly 6 minutes while I was tossing my mine try to get a shot.
So I grab the Z8 which is hanging around my neck as well and Walla, INSTANT FOCUS, LOCKED ON! As you probably know is my favorite camera since it first came out. For obvious reasons you've read about by everybody on social media that ever had their collective hands on one. So like this was a shock, I got several fantastic shots of our little friend here.
So back to the Z6 III and again, solid lock on DIRT. How lucky for me right? I've always wanted to have the best photo's of dirt on flickr. NOT!! I'm now walking all around him and it's stays locked on dirt. The for no reason it finally see's the owl. With fantastic results? What the heck is up with this camera? Perfection when it finally sees the object. But how many little birds do you know that would put up with this? I've lost many great shots just because I wanted to use this camera! It's becoming a liability not an asset. We need a fix Nikon, yesterday.
----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

I also found this guy on Mt Lemmon. Apparently Mt Lemmon is an extremely popular destination for birding especially during the Spring Migration... during the Winter, I would say it is extremely popular with family and kids who like to slide on the snow... imagine being a kid living in the desert, how awesome it must be on the weekend to be able to ski or slide after just an hour drive.... I know that I would have been thrilled. This being said, the woods were somewhat very quiet in terms of bird photography opportunities... We could hear birds in the distance but it was very difficult to see any bird providing good photo opportunities... The Acorn Woodpecker was the exception that proves the rule.
