Les chevaux n'ont rien à faire dans un cirque, ni aucun autre animal, d'ailleurs. Mais il y a toujours une exception qui confirme la règle.
Le cirque Knie a bâti sa réputation sur ses chevaux, en grande partie. Lipizzans, Frisons, Andalous, etc, la famille Knie a toujours vécu avant tout pour les chevaux et je suis obligée de reconnaître que leurs chevaux sont magnifiques et fort bien traités.
I don't like to see horses and any other animal performing in a circus. It's not the place of this wonderful animal. But I'm obliged to admit that the Knie's circus has always had beautiful horses which are very well treated !
Spring season has a number of colorful bloom popping up around , with stunning Wisteria , colorful Tulip and the beautiful Azalea are no exception in the Middle of April up to early May ...

This is a breeding season Little Blue Heron that I photographed in some beautiful early morning light!! What a fun day it is to share with these guys!! Avec sa démarche sautillante, son corps mince et sa queue extraordinaire, la bergeronnette des ruisseaux est l'un des oiseaux les plus élégants et les plus beaux. Elle a le dessus gris acier et le dessous jaune brillant, surtout pendant la période de reproduction. Au printemps le mâle a la gorge noire et le pourtour des yeux rayé de blanc. La femelle a une gorge pâle. En hiver, la bergeronnette perd presque complètement les tons jaunes de son plumage à l'exception du croupion. Elle reste néanmoins plus gracieuse que la bergeronnette grise, notamment à cause de sa longue queue. Peut facilement être confondue au printemps et en été avec sa proche cousine, la bergeronnette printanière, qui a le dessus vert olive, une tête et un dessous jaune et une queue plus courte.

With its bouncy gait, slender body and extraordinary tail, the Brook Wagtail is one of the most elegant and beautiful birds. It has a steel gray upper and shiny yellow underside, especially during the breeding season. In the spring the male has black throat and the edge of the eyes striped with white. The female has a pale throat. In winter, the wagtail almost completely loses the yellow tones of its plumage except for the rump. She is still more graceful than the gray wagtail, especially because of its long tail. Can easily be confused in spring and summer with its close cousin, the wagtail spring, which has the olive green top, a yellow head and bottom and a shorter tail.
When the sun comes out, the architecture of Gothic cathedrals offers many opportunities for the sun's rays play exploring the darkness. St Bavo's Cathedral is no exception.
I love the structures underneath bridges. This old bridge was no exception, made out of wood unlike most concrete bridge structures these days. It was interesting as it had an old footbridge which crossed the water to a boating dock.
Experimented with a new processing look. I quite like the feel of this, although it was a difficult choice to not choose the BW.

I hate photographing musicians wearing sunglasses but I will make an exception for these sunglasses, which are spectacular. King Khan and BBQ Show as well as King Khan and the Shrines are well worth seeing live. Garage rock at its finest!

English Bay has spectacular daily sunsets and you do not even have to leave your 100 sq ft apartment to see one. This beach is actually officially called Sunset . Condominiums are taking over the edge of the ocean all around the city with exception of Stanley Park. I actually thought someone employed a large bearing from mining machine or large mixer to use it as a sculpture. I found out, that it was made by French artist Bernar Venet for Vancouver Biennale (2007?). He calls it poetically 217.5 Arc x 13.

The common periwinkle (Vinca minor L.) is a plant that is quite rare in the wild in Poland. In dispersed positions, it occurs almost throughout the country, with the exception of the mountains. It is a plant that grows in deciduous forests, it reproduces vegetatively. It blooms blue in the spring and in other shades.
It is also grown as an ornamental plant.

Another outing to Barrie Bay - the loons have finally left, as well as the Harlequin and Jaeger. Only thing now is a few Longtails, and a bunch of Common & Red-Breasted Mergansers.
It was really cold due to the wind so I was really limited for shooting locations, I found one spot down in the rocks out of the wind which allowed me to stay for awhile, but that meant I had few birds pass by - - with the exception of when they all flew off in a panic when a helicopter passed by overhead.

Water levels on the waterways around Essex County are at record highs. Sturgeon Creek in Leamington, Ontario is no exception, where these docks were far to precarious to venture out on. Keep off signs posted definitely kept me off, as I explored on this early morning.

Ambience and ambiance are different spellings of the same word, referring to the special atmosphere or mood of a particular environment. While some dictionaries list ambiance as the standard spelling, ambience is far more common in all main 21st-century varieties of English. It’s worth noting, though, that ambiance tends to take precedence in contexts relating to art and design, but this is by no means a rule, and exceptions abound.
With the exception of a few decades in the distant past, Rottumeroog has always been an uninhabitaded island far away from the mainland.
The only residents were the National Beach Guardians and their families who had to ensure that the sea walls had to be maintained, because the island functioned as a huge breakwater for the mainland of the province of Groningen.
When the dikes in Groningen were brought to Delta height, this function disappeared and in 1991 the island was returned to nature by the Dutch government and the island has been at the mercy of the sea.
During northwesterly storms the seawater in the basin between the Netherlands, England, Nothwest Germany, Denmark and Norway is pushed up and the very high and long waves from the Atlantic can reach the eastern coasts.
As a result a so called "wash over" was created in 1999 and the island narrowly escaped a total disappearence by the seething waves.
The place were the relentless sea strucked is clearly visible from the old coastal light as a sandy spot as a sign that a very large part of the row of dunes has completely wiped out there.
During this wash over, millions of tons of sand moved from the west coast to the east coast of the island....
The northern side of the volcano is almost entirely devoid of vegetation (with the exception of some cacti) as it has been resurfaced in more recent times by lava flows.

Jasminocereus (meaning "jasmine-like cereus", referring to the flowers) is a genus of cacti with only one species, Jasminocereus thouarsii, endemic to the Galápagos Islands, territorially a part of Ecuador. In English it is often called the candelabra cactus (a name used for other cacti with a similar appearance). At maturity it has a branched, treelike habit, and may be up to 7 m (23 ft) tall. The stems are made up of individual sections with constrictions between them. Its creamy white to greenish flowers open at night and are followed by greenish to reddish fruits.
Jasminocereus thouarsii is endemic to the Galápagos, where it is found on Fernandina, Floreana, Isabela, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz and Santiago, plus some islets, including Bartolomé. It is found in arid areas, from the coast up to about 300 m (980 ft) on the larger islands.
The fruits of Jasminocereus thouarsii (particularly var. delicatus for those who distinguish varieties) have been used to make a fruit juice described as "refreshing".

The painted-snipe is not related to the true snipes and differs from them in habits, flight and appearance, being far more colorful and having longer legs than the snipes. It is unusual in that the female is larger and more brightly colored than the male, with the sides of the head, neck and throat a rich chestnut brown, and a distinct black band across the breast; the male is paler and greyer.
Mostly in the animal kingdom the males are more beautiful than the females. There are exceptions of course, like in humans, where females are far more beautiful than males. This bird is also an exception. The female is more colourful. I saw a female as well, but couldn't get her well on the photo.

Some facts on flies...
Flies form one of the five most diverse insect orders, including about 150,000 described species in 150 families.
It's estimated that there are 30,000 species of fly in Australia, of which only 6400 have been described.
Flies can be distinguished from other insects because they have only one pair of functional wings. Almost all flies have mouthparts that are adapted for lapping or piercing and sucking.
A large component of the world's fly fauna is unique to Australia. Flies are ubiquitous and often abundant in Australian terrestrial ecosystems.
They perform important ecological functions such as nutrient recycling, predation and pollination, and their larvae are often parasitoids of other insects.
Many species of fly are regarded as a nuisance, including the bush fly (Musca vetustissima), mosquitoes, sandflies and blackflies.
Flies are responsible for the transmission of a wide variety of disease-causing micro-organisms in humans and animals.
Most of these diseases are absent from Australia, with exceptions such as dengue fever and some types of encephalitis.

I'm still killing two birds with one stone in this pic from Ponce Inlet. The dune walkway with its railing and fenced off areas leads to a beautiful beach scene worthy of Earth Day! It is rare to see this stretch of beach so uninhabited this time of year. The terrible winds that were blowing that day were the reason hardly anyone but me was there! It looks tranquil enough, but THIS time, I wore earrings with latch backs so they wouldn't blow off! :-) The prettiest days always seem to be windy around here, and this one was no exception.

The north Cascades are a stunning region, but alas one that we only briefly managed to visit on our recent trip. They are for sure somewhere to immerse yourself in the wilderness rather than just drive through as we did. In fact from the North Cascade Highway much of the excitement is hidden behind a seventy foot high curtain of conifers. One exception to this statement is the overlook above Diablo Lake which is seen in this view.

COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 is attacking all over the world. Japan is no exception, and everyday is becoming more difficult. As a photographer, I also thought about life and postponed the exhibition according to the government's request. The Japanese government does not support artists. So I decided to hold an online photo exhibition. This is free to watch.
The photo exhibition should be in the dark in the room at night, preferably with the playlist. Look at the brightness of mobile terminals at 1/3.

Normally I'm not a zoo person, preferring to see animals in their natural environment. On this occasion I made an exception based on the good reputation of the compact zoo in Central Park, New York. The zoo was wonderful, the exhibits excellent and the photo opportunities amazing. I took dozens of photos and videos of this pair of Snow Leopards; this is one of them.
