Art Nouveau lettering that pre-dates Art Nouveau style on the 1888 Excelsior Power Company Building on Gold Street in lower Manhattan. Thousands of tourists walk along nearby Fulton Street every day, never realizing that this beauty of a sign is less than a hundred feet away.
A longhorn beetle encountered a mountain of hardware cloth and decided to scale it rather than go around it. Not an easy task, but the bug was quite determined and making progress.
Historic smack, Excelsior LT.472, a traditional Lowestoft fishing smack built in the town in 1921 to trawl the southern North Sea, seen on the slipway undergoing overhaul.
Excelsior Geyser was the largest geyser in the world when last active in the 1890s, with eruptions up to 300 feet (100 meters) in height. It has since gone dormant, and is now a large hot spring, with dimensions of 275x325 feet (85x100 meters) , and discharging over 4000 gallons (15,000 liters) of water a minute into the Firehole
River.

The restored sailing trawler Excelsior LT472 makes a pleasing reflection in glassy water (a rare thing) at Lowestoft yacht basin.
In Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. Am told that at one time it was largest geyser in the park, but hasn't erupted for more than 100 years.
Well, the long anticipated "Woking Weekender" finally arrived and delivered a magnificent array of vehicles operating rail replacement services out to Weybridge, Guildford, Aldershot and Basingstoke throughout both days. No less than 34 different operators provided in excess of 70 buses, coaches and minibuses across both days including three 75-plates. And Burrows Coaches had "both" their East Lancs Darts out - EDIT - STOP PRESS! On Saturday it was LK55ADX and on Sunday it was J8UFX - first with the news!!
Now then, Woking is not the photographer's friend at this time of year due to high-rise office blocks surrounding the station area. Saturday started wet, eased off but remained rather gloomy all day, and Sunday was almost a write-off with clear blue skies and low sun. The one sunny spot we found came with a time limit as a ruddy great big lamppost shadow edged its way into shot therefore limiting use of that corner. All in all though, it proved to be a belter!! Maybe have it in the Spring next time please Network Rail?
Another one where I managed to be really lucky with where the sun was in relation to the falls. This is about as close as I would cut it. If the sun had been higher, it would be too much light on the falls itself.
This glen is quite rugged and wild compared with the others like Watkins and Buttermilk. The trail is rough and narrow and puts a hiker at considerable risk in at least one place, navigating around a tight perch over a cliff. I've seen pictures of a larger falls than this, but I hiked a fair distance up the trail past this falls and found nothing.
Here's a snapshot of the Farnborough Airshow shuttle buses (plus a couple of visiting coaches) taken today (22/07/22). As in previous years, Go-Ahead provide the buses for the Queens Parade car park and Stagecoach runout to Farnborough (Main), Farnborough North, North Camp and Aldershot railway stations. Some Go-Ahead stuff comes in from the London area on routes such as the 806.

Had a spare hour so I called in at Stonehenge to take a break in the sunshine. A few coaches came past including a CIE Tours Van Hool T-series; a new Highway Temsa in yet another different colour fleetname; an Excelsior Evotor on cruise work; a new Anderson Travel Futura and a Van Hool in a hurry.
