This is favorite in my series When the Soul Speaks, a collection of emotive conceptual B&W child imagery. This particular image pays homage to Longfellow's legendary poem of the same title.

I loved the look of these terraces that we found in many locations in Yellowstone. Each one holds back a level of water, building higher as the decades go by.
We tracked down the Excelsior this morning. I thought it would be harder to find.
Bring gumboots if you want to get closer. Or waders.
Once P-kid finishes the film that in that camera, he'll post a photo, I'm sure.

Another photo of the pool area at sunset.
The problem with finding a great view and perfect foreground is that you tend to revisit it over and over and I must have over 100 shots of this view from every conceivable angle.

Excelsior Geyser next to Grand Prismatic Spring had the most beautiful blue colors. The Midway Geyser Basin is simply spectacular to see, although it is tough to get to. The parking area is relatively small and was completely full, so we ended up having to park on the road and walk a bit to get there, but it was totally worth the effort.
The Excelsior Motorcycle was known in its day for speed and ability. In 1913, the Excelsior was the first motorcycle to go 100 miles per house. The Company became victim of the Great Depression and ceased production in 1931
